N-400 April 2018 Filers

I passed my interview today. My case status changed online 2 minutes after I walked out of the office. My application for citizenship has been accepted and it is pending final review before I go in line for scheduling for the oath ceremony.

 

I was also approved for an oath modification based on a strong moral or ethical belief. My oath omits the parts "so help me God" and "bearing the arms for the US if required by law". It does have the part about performing non-combatant services if required by law.

 

 

All in all, it took about 30 minutes. We walked in 15 minutes before my interview time and the officer separated me and my husband before we got to the waiting room. I was taken straight to his office for the interview and put under oath. It was really relaxed, with people coming in and our for other issues, he left for a second too and reminded me I was under oath when we came back, we talked about Luka Modric winning Balon d'Or and Croatia winning 2nd spot in the World Cup this year :D

I got my interview letter today from the documents tabs and it is scheduled for Jan 11, i will be out of country that day and may not be able to keep this appointment. Anyone has experienced rescheduling their interview? how much is normally the wait time between the originally scheduled interview date and the rescheduled interview date?

I had an experience today of all the things that you should not do I guess. First I had my N-400 today with my I-751 pending. I only got the N-400 notice for interview and it said nothing about bringing my wife along. I was however planning to take her along. However, we have a 6 week old who gave us a scare last week and had to be hospitalized for three days. Last night he was coughing and my wife and I felt it was not a good idea to drive him all the way to Orlando and back. Anyways I checked in for the interview and then the lady comes out and calls my name and then asks where is your wife. I told her what happened. She said well I will have to reschedule and she took my interview notice with her. She was very pleasant. I showed her the hospital discharge notice. She then said I will reschedule and your wife has to be there and make sure to bring all the originals of the documents you submitted. I think its unfair that the notice said nothing about the spouse and now I have to wait again.... I keep reading about months long wait for rescheduling now... Any idea anyone what happens next? Moral of the story - take your spouse if asked or not!

My wife's states the same thing. Our interview was November 2nd. Received letter for oath ceremony in the mail today (12/12). It is scheduled for January 11th.

. I am sorry this happened to you. It's unfair that they would reschedule it if they do not specifically request the spouse. I hope you have it soon and that your baby gets well.

Congratulations! If your case is recommended for approval then it shouldn't take too long for them to schedule the oath ceremony. I'm sure you'll receive a notice in the mail soon.

I had my interview a month ago and got the "a decision cannot yet be made about your application." The interview went well and I thought I was going to be approved on the spot since my case was simple. The officer said I should receive a response in 3 to 4 weeks. It's been a month and the status online still says "interview was scheduled." I read somewhere that USCIS has 120 days to make a decision. I'm really disappointed that I'm going to have to wait this much longer after waiting several months for an interview.

 

Has anybody here had the same problem?

Just had my interview this morning. My appointment was 7:15AM, but got into the IO room at around 8AM. It all went well, she was nice and friendly officer. All smiles and very warm. 

My overall experience in LA field was pleasant. I didnt had a hard time. 

The officer hand me a paper and told me I should get a mail for my oath in 1-2weeks time.

My status online changed as soon as I left the building to “OATH CEREMONY WILL BE SCHEDULED”.

 

Its time to relax and wait for the oath.
