I just received my biometrics appointment. It's more than a month out. I've requested an EAD expedite based on a pending job offer, but I'm definitely going to lose it if I have to wait a month JUST for them to get my fingerprints.

Is it possible the card could be approved without them?

Depending on you local office you try to walk in for biometrics. No you can not get EAD before bio metrics because those are the pictures used on EAD.

Go to your local USCIS to see if you can do an early walk-in and explain them your situation. Go early. Sometimes they let you do it before your appointment scheduled date. It certainly does not hurt to try. A few years ago in my local USCIS I was able to do an early walk-in. Go with your biometric letter and your ID cards/driver license/passport, etc.

They need the biometrics done before they can issue your either EAD or GC.

Thank you! I'll try on Monday!

I put in expedited request before my biometrics and it was denied. I received e-mail specifically saying that you cannot expedite unless biometrics is already done.

FYI - I walked in on for biometrics one hour after I got letter in mail and had no problems at all. Requested expedited EAD on the very same day and in about 3 weeks it was approved. There is hope, just try your best. Good luck!

Thanks very much. Went today around 8AM and had no problems. Took about 20 minutes - practically light speed!
