A lot of suckers out there. Say the average donation was $10. That's only 50,000 people. Not even close to a representation of a 300+ million population. So a small group of people may be "disgusted". But that leaves 299,950,000 people who aren't disgusted enough to even give that criminal a dime.

He is lucky he was only fired. Although I'm not sure what the statute of limitations is for lying to the FBI is so he might not be out of the woods yet.
