pros and cons of postponing GC interview

hello friends, just received my GC Interview date it's gonna be  after a month... currently im pregnant. my interview date is around my due date.. I'm really scared what if I will be in labor... the place is 1hr drive.. im praying so my baby will delay few days.. or week.. any advice for me please???

There has been a lot of horror stories about people who rescheduled their interviews. The USCIS is a big unwieldy bureaucracy that does not like changes. More often than not the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing and vice versa.  So the consensus I have seen is that do not reschedule unless it is absolutely necessary .

That being said the your health and that of your unborn child should come first.

Thanks a lot.. I'm praying hard.. so my baby will come after my interview... I will try my best to rest, relax.... until the interview day... it's one hr drive... hope the interview will be short...  May God be in control. 🤞🤞

its much worse when you miss the interview because your wife literally went into delivery the day of the interview.

 

rescheduling is annoying but its less risky imo.

2006 - Entered US on F-1
2009 - COS to H-1
2011 - Married USC

Conditional GC Process:
04/2012 - Concurrent I-130 petition / I-485 AOS / I-765 EAD / I-131 AP sent
35 days to biometrics, 73 days to EAD/AP combo card, 85 days to interview, 96 days to Conditional Green Card

04/2014 - Eligible for ROC

06/2014 - I-751 package filing joint with spouse sent

5 days to extension,37 days to biometrics, 172 days to CSC transfer, 247 days to Green Card

04/2015 - Eligible for Citizenship

09/2015 - N-400 package filing on basis of USC spouse sent

29 days to biometrics, 105 days to interview, 147 days to oath and US citizenship

~ 9 years and 6 months from first entry to US citizenship

I think you and your unborn child's well being comes first. If I was in your position I would try to make some inquiries and see if the date can be sooner. Call the Application Support Center for your area and ask questions about it, nothing wrong with finding out. I wouldn't postpone it because you never know what complications can arise during delivery or how long your recovery time will be for you to be well enough to go to the interview. That's just my opinion. Good luck!

hey there... i didnt postpone my interview thank God. i didn't deliver my baby on my interview day or before. the interview went well. i was approved on the spot. God is good
