Hi! My fiance is trying to schedule his interview in Jamaica but we do not think his case number is ready yet. He submitted the DS-160 form a few days ago though. How long until he can schedule an appointment? Or are we doing something wrong? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

You have to have your NVC case number to complete the Non-Immigrant DS-160 form. You will only be able to schedule an appointment after filling out the correct form with the  correct case number the NVC provided you. (the kng-----number) Your case should be ready by now. Email the consulate to confirm. In your email Subject line you must reference your NVC case number. In the email query them to confirm that your case was received and the consulate will send you a confirmatory email (your packet 3 information containing the required documents you will need to have ready for your interview (police certificate, certificate of non-impediment etc). You can schedule your interview using the link on the embassy website. Has your fiance completed their medical yet?

I am so glad that this worked out for you.

I have one more question. We are complying all the paperwork and wanted to know if you brought copies from the RGD Office of each item (birth certificate and police record)? If so, how long did it take and how much did it cost? Thanks!

Also, what is packet 4? It does not say anywhere on where to submit packet 3. I think I am confused on this part of the process.
