No. Illegals are to blame. Not the people in power or corporations. All the major corporations and business owners love illegals.

Well, then obviously the corporations that hire them are to blame. Make it really financially painful for them to hire illegals, slap them with fines and make it so that hiring an illegal is not worth the risk.

This ####### from Cheetos Pig is getting ridiculous how in hell for those of us who use H&R Block / TurboTax or accountant that will automatically include this when filing your taxes could be penalized - I have a wife who's I-751 we applied for and I'm nervous as hell right now (I do not have a child and we are trying) but this is ###### up if this get's through - and they said there is a 36 month window they can look into as well? How can someone be penalized for something there was no law for?

The liberal politicians and the democrats would not allow that to happen. It would be considered racist. They even complain about having to enter citizenship status in the US census. Or having voter ID. It's sad that the entire media and power structure loves illegals and hates legal immigrants.

Actually Illegal immigrants are more likely to commit crimes than legal ones.

Available evidence suggests that illegals are more likely to commit crimes than the rest of the population. Fox News sorted through myriad "local, state and federal statistics" and found that "illegal immigrants are three times as likely to be convicted of murder as members of the general population and account for far more crimes than their 3.5-percent share of the U.S. population would suggest."

The percentage of illegals committing the number of crimes are as follows, according to Fox News:

  • 13.6 percent of those sentenced for all committed crimes in the country
  • 12 percent of murder sentences
  • 16 percent of trafficking sentences

Yeah because Fox and the Daily Wire are totally not biased and even the sources they use are biased.

give me a break. This is not a partisan thing. You think the GOP before Trump cared about illegal immigration? HECK NO. Their corporate donors are all about legalizing illegal immigrants. Great way to have cheap labor. That's why the US government historically hasn't done anything about companies that employ undocumented residents. Politicians don't want to threaten the status quo. The only reason the GOP now seems to care about illegal immigration is due to Trump*.

*Edited to add: I'm not saying that's a good thing or pro-Trump. I'm hardly that. My only point was the GOP leaders were more in sync with the Dems on this issue until Trump.

Stupid rappers, Hollywood actors and pop musicians are also rich. They don't contribute anything meaningful to civilization or humanity as a whole. But people chose to give them their hard earned money by buying their stuff. The guy who came up with the fidget spinner is rich. The fact of life is that the top 1% will ALWAYS own 50% of the money. It is natural law. When you try to change it by getting the government involved and redistributing wealth or forcing down rich people's wages artificially, the financial system will collapse and everyone will suffer like in Venezuela or now the Scandinavian countires. The best way to for human prosperity is for government to stay away as much as possible.

LOL, I've never heard anyone ever say Venezuela or Scandinavian countries as being similar other than lazy wannabe libertarians who freak out at the word socialism. Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland are all doing quite well. Finland supposedly has the happiest people in the world at the moment and the best education system.

What the NSA is doing is wrong. They shouldn't be allowed to spy on people like that.

To all of you justifying government intrusion by saying that you can be fired for what you post on social media - does your employer ask you for 5 years worth of all kinds of social media accounts? No? Should they? They can only fire you for things that are easily googable that the government should have no issue accessing anyway. And employers shouldn't be allowed to just fire people for trivial reasons.

And FYI, immigrants, both legal and illegal, are less likely to commit crimes, so guess what, the current screening is already effective enough. Domestic crime and domestic terrorism (like school shootings, a very American thing), as well as the widening inequality is what efforts should be focused on.

But sadly this is the way it is in America. 0% job security. Employers are allowed to fire someone for anything. Not working enough? Fired. Oh you're working too much? You're fired. Had the flu last week? Fired. Posted on social media that you hate your job? Fired.

How is it government intrusion to check what future immigrants are up to so they can prevent terrorist attacks and fraud and other #######?

Sources on the last part? Preferably non biased, peer reviewed?

Yes. I did not support the GOP. The republicans were poised during the 2016 election with Jeb Bush who has a mexican wife to legalize all the illegals to hopefully get the illegal voting block in the future. They also had two Latino senators who were initially weak on immigration running to try and win the Hispanic vote.  The democrats were planning on using legalization and added welfare freebies to lure in the illegal voting block. Trump came in and ruined everything for both of them.

That last part is fake news. Illegals commit more crimes than the average US citizen. however legal immigrants commit significantly less crimes than the average US citizen. The main stream media just says immigrants commit less crime than citizens lumping in legals and illegals together.

Actually I was going to edit and retract my question because I got it confused with whoever claimed it was illegals. So I am now asking you: sources on that? Non biased and peer reviewed?

The woman who came in on a K1 visa and killed her coworkers along with her husband in San Bernadine made public posts on her Facebook about her hatred for Americans. Professional terrorists are most likely already on their databases. This would only help identify people who have radical thoughts and hate western culture from entering the US.

True, but that was before there was a box on the visa application asking for social media usernames and passwords.  I doubt she would have given that info knowing what she had posted.

Also, my understanding is that her posts weren't public, but were private messages.

And actually, this current policy is not requesting passwords, just usernames.

Yes, the government should stay away from your private business and your social media, I agree. Economic policy is complex and I'm against ideology there - an ideology that everyone should receive the same amount of money and an ideology that claims that all types of wealth redistribution is bad are both equally limiting and not allowing for rational problem solving.

This Video is Tucker Carlson from Fox news but the data stated in the video is from the DOJ.

So? I don't care what people of a certain ideology claim. It's true that politicians from any party are very unlikely to pass and enforce such laws because many of those same companies are there donors which is another big issue. But if you make illegal immigrants practically unemployable they have very little incentive to come and stay here. But for that to happen, you need to punish employer's greed first
