I'm not sure how long that particular embassy takes but overall with the exception of some very high volume embassies, I have been seeing people getting interview dates within 4-6 weeks of CC.

My Urdu is terrible. So it’s been 5 weeks since your interview? What did they tell you at the interview? Did they need more documents? Unfortunately it’s a waiting game. Submit everything they ask for in a timely manner and then just have to wait for them to approve.

Congrats! Last I saw interviews were being scheduled for May. I hope you get yours soon!

my k1 interview was on march 5th of 2018.in islamabad pakistan After the interview I was given a 221g that said my case would be going under administrative processing. No other information was needed. On March 14 my case status was updated. Again on April 3rd and once more on April 11th. Is this a good sign? Usually how many case updates does it take.

I’m not sure if there’s a set number of case updates that it takes to get final approval. Administrative processing is usually a long process where they’ll be doing a lot of background checks. If they didn’t need anything else from you, then you just have to wait till they complete their process. Good luck!

Your case will be pivot. All cases in Islamabad are pivot.

USCIS takes about a month to send your approved case to NVC. Then NVC has been taking 9-10 weeks to assign a case number for pivot cases. I’m week 10 today and no case number yet. Once you get a case number, you submit everything online and NVC reviews. It looks like that all has been taking a month. Then after approval from NVC, it’s 1-2 months till Interview.

Thanks for this!

The waiting time is really painfuLL!

After waiting 6 months in uscis still 1 month for sending case to nvc and 10 weeks for a damn case number!?

I think they are backlogged or very slow in dealing with immediate relatives.

Can you tell me which documents are you prepearing for nvc?

Mine will be IR 2 category so which affidavt of support my father should be using as he will be having low income on tax papers?

my uncle will be joint sponser having income more than $300000 as he is doctor will be fine?

We are also waiting for my mother IR 1 petition to get approved applied on same date so will there be different affidavit of support for her and other documents or same as mine?

My father will pay tax on 17 apriL of last year,so which other things are needed from there and from pakistan?

Thanks for your heLp

Your visa is IR2. I wish I could help you with the documents. I applied for my husband for CR1 visa so the documents that I need to submit are likely different from yours.

With your uncle as joint sponsor, the income should be fine. All of the documents for your mother will need to be submitted separately most likely but those instructions should be provided with approval.

The nvc page provides more information on the process: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/begin-nat-visa-center.html

I wish I could be of more help but I don’t know a lot about IR visas.

Is yours IR-1 or IR-2? Those two are quite different but yes CR-1 and IR-1 are very similar. I think the only difference is if it has been less than 2 years of marriage then it's a conditional resident visa (CR) and if it has been over 2 years then immediate relative (IR).

Oh okay, all of the requirements are right here:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-4-collect-financial-documents.html

You can click on the next step to see the requirements for civil documents as well.

For mine, I have the tax transcript, my husband's birth certificate, copy of the biographic page of his passport, copy of my passport, our marriage certificate, and police character certificates for my husband. Just look at all the requirements on that page, it tells you what kind of proof you need based on who you're sponsoring.
