Dylann Roof sentenced to death for church slayings

Great day for justice.  Here’s hoping it doesn’t take years to carry out the sentence.

Sentenced merely to death?  Seems a rather light sentence.

And some group of clowns will probably spearhead an appeal.

I still don't get why the US are still wasting a bunch of tax money to have people on death row for years and then kill them and its not even a deterrent for future crime. The whole prison system in this country needs to be fixed.

I agree.  He has been sentenced.  There should be a firing squad next week.  I’m sure we could round up enough guns to get the job done efficiently, even if we had to borrow some from Wales.

Nope. We should release first time non-violent drug offenders who get life sentences after getting caught with drugs 1 time and have life sentences reserved for guys like him instead.

There’s a process for that, but like many things controlled by the government, it is painfully slow.  Thankfully, less life convictions for felony possession with intent to distribute are being handed out today.

 

I still think trash like the OP should just be killed ASAP.  No need to waste tax dollars on him or those like him.

Why? For what? What's the purpose? Would it make you feel better? The victims family?

What’s the purpose of letting him sit in prison for 50 years, feeding and caring for him medically, free of charge?  He’s been sentenced to death by a jury of his peers for his dastardly deeds.  Why wait?

No one deserves to die. The death penalty is not a deterrent and it doesn't bring closure to the families. To kill someone to fill a void is pointless.

I don't believe there was anything in this case to suggest he was mentally ill. He was a straight up hateful racist person that wanted to murder people for his own purposes. He represented himself and maintained he was not mentally ill, that he was happy about what he did, nor do I believe the court found him to be mentally ill. It's an appropriate sentence, but he'll have the right to appeal not that he would want to.

What first time drug offender gets a life sentence?
