The Consulate will need evidence that you have the finances arranged, the Asylum thing is secondary.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

@all Thanks for all the advise , I was able to talk to admission officer today . I was told the financial aid is for America student only . He's willing to help me check if i can get more scholarship though , not promising though. He said that the only option for financial student concerning financial situation he knows off.

Still worried about the the Asylum and applying for the F1 visa though . Anyone with point i could use to score point with the consular should pls put forward .

Thanks Much

Are you getting tuition remission and a fellowship of 15,000 a year?

If that is the case, you might need only extra 5,000-8,000 a year (the university would know because on your i-20 for the F1 there is a slot that says living costs with a $ amount). Students can work part-time on campus, so another option is to figure out if you can get something there, working just a few hours every week, like 10 hours a week. You can work in the library putting away books, as a research assistant for a professor, etc.

As a full-time student you are not allowed to work more than 20 hours a week. I would not recommend doing more than 10 hours, though, because you won't have time.
