Who loans money to someone who is here temporarily and for all intents can not work?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

@all , won't pursuing loan bring up more crazy questions from the consular ?. What do you think of the idea of asking for more scholarship with the international office (Admission officer), will that give more % chance of getting my F1 visa in my already complicated issue. As you know the scary part is still how to convince the interviewer am not going  there to reunite with spouse ,rather going to further my career.

Hoping for more comment on way forward for me.

Thanks much

Pls if anyone know whosoever can give loan in the US also , i will appreciate info on that , i've got co-signer also @Coco8

The co-signer has to be a US citizen or permanent resident.

You should ask the university about lenders. I don't know about any. You can read this: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/articles/2017-06-09/explore-student-loan-options-for-international-students-in-the-us

There are a lot. Some need a co-signer and others don't.

Seems like the OP would like details.

I gave him a link. I'm not going to make recommendations about where to look. If OP got a scholarship he should know how to google and send his wife to make inquiries.

I had a full scholarship and tuition remission for 5 years so I never had to get a loan. But I have friends who got loans for MBA and MPP, and they were from other countries. They all found lenders through their universities (I'm talking Chicago, Columbia, Princeton, Harvard).

I was under the impression that the applicant had to prove he had enough funds to support him or herself during their studies (scholarships, personal funds, etc.) before they issue the documentation to apply for the student visa. These expenses include tuition, living expenses, books, medical insurance, etc.

@Israelwayne you should ask your university about this. Will the scholarship cover all your expenses?

If you read the whole thread you will realize that (1) he said the scholarship did not cover everything (2) I told him to talk to the international student office to figure out how much is not covered (3) ask the university about loans to cover the rest

What did your Uni say?

Easter is over and people are back at work.

In many places it is a 4 day weekend, I assume that the Post Office would be closed today, but nope.

So yes should be able to get hold of someone today.

He's willing to help me check if i can get more scholarship though , not promising though. He said that the only option for financial student concerning financial situation he knows off.
