How do I know if my RFE was received ?

I received an RFE on March 16th 2018. I responded to the request on March 20, 2018 (to the Potomac Service Center. It was scheduled to be received on March 22. Now that messed up part is that I can’t track it because I lost my usps tracking number (ik stupid me). I checked on her USCIS website and it’s still not updated. I already called the USCIS and they couldn’t give me an update because he lady I spoke with didn’t have “access” to it. Is that t possible for them to receive and not have it updated on the website ? What do I do?? Thanks guys!

Hi there,

 

They will definitely update it on website. If you haven't created an account yet, you should. Its quite helpful and you can also get email and text alerts regarding your case. I sent my RFE on Feb 27th as certified overnight and it was received on Feb 28th. I checked my status on March 27th and it had stated that they received my response on March 10th or something (it was definitely a few days after the package was signed for). Also, make sure you check your status using the application EAC number (or the EAC #on the RFE notice). I checked mine using the EAC # off my I797C form (request #) and hence wasn't seeing any updates.

Hi . Still no update . I’m getting really worried 😦. Plz help . I just wanna know that they have it😭

Give them a week...Since you just received your RFE, i'm assuming you still have 1 month before the deadline? Although, try to schedule an infopass appt right now for next week so that if you don't see anything online by the end of the week, you can go to the infopass appt and ask them about your case. I believe they would have more info on your case than available online.

Thank you so much . I just scheduled an appointment with an immigration officer tomorrow . Hopefully they’ll tell me everything

Hi! Just a little update . I went to my infopass appointment today and the officer was NO help at all. She basically told me the same thing they told me when I called USCIS, that they don’t have access to it . But she did tell me to call back and ask to be transferred to POTOMAC, where I mailed thr RFE. so I did and I spoke with an officer who has access to everything that’s not even on the website! She told me that they received the RFE and that my case is in process!!! Thank god !😊😊😊. And she said that thr entire promise is from 9-11 months . So I can breathe now knowing that it wasn’t lost in mail. Thank you again ❤️

Wow, she was helpful after all, that way you were able to contact Potomac, phew!

Yes she was helpful after all. I could have saved a trip if I knew that! But I’m glad that I have a clear of mind now . Thank you. ❤️

UPDATE: April 20th 2018 

Is  when they officially updated my case status as “RFE received” a exactly one month later even doh it was received since March 28th 2018 . So don’t panic guys , just because it wasn’t updated on the website, doesn’t mean that they don’t have it . 😊😊
