I am currently filing out the I-864 for my husband's green card. We live abroad now and I don't earn enough money to be his sponsor so I plan on having my parents be sponsors. I realize I still must submit tax transcripts with my I-864. The question I have is we plan on submitting the application in the next couple weeks, but obviously taxes for the year 2017 are due April 15th. I just finished doing my taxes and I am about to mail them in, but it says it can take up to 6 weeks to receive a transcript if they are mailed in. We don't want to wait 6 weeks to submit the green card application so I was wondering if there's any way around this? Would it be acceptable to send a photo copy of the actual 2017 tax return I filled out? Or would they not accept that? I have the transcripts for 2016, 2015 and 2014 so I can submit those, but I'm not sure if they'd be picky about not having an actual transcript for 2017. Does anyone know if it's acceptable?

The same question applies for my parents, they just submitted their taxes for 2017 so we don't have the actual transcript for that yet. Can I send in a photo copy of the actual return for 2017, and then just submit transcripts for 2016 and 2015?

I appreciate any help!

The complete tax return.  If it you have no W2's they cannot possibly be part of a complete tax return.  Note the word "or" in the instructions between "transcripts" and "returns".

I worked abroad, they don't give W2's for work abroad.

Right, so your complete tax return will NOT include any W2 forms.  No problem.
