No. Get comfortable because most AoS cases take one year or more.

If you filed an I-765 with your case (for an EAD / work authorization), that is taking ~4-6 months right now. Once you have that, you can get an SSN.

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

Yeah sadly it is. Mine took 8 months. I know a guy who got his EAD after 11 months. The processing times have gotten really bad over the past 2-3 years. It didn't used to be this way. Sorry it's just how it is.

I have been reading other threads in here about expedited EAD, how does this work..? It is getting real tough for us economically as am the only one working while my husband is read to work but cant do so....so bad.

He needs a job offer letter from an employer who is ready to hire him and then he has to send it to USCIS.
