Noise in America

I thought life in the Philippines was noisy. Americans always complain that the Philippines is so loud. It is wrong! Americans have more money for noise! Blasting music, street parties, blasting car music and exploding mufflers, motorbikes louder than anything in the islands, always shouting on the phone, screaming on the bus, fighting on the bus and in stores. Smoking cigarettes and drugs EVERYWHERE. Drug needles all over the ground. And, police will do nothing about it. Even if it is the law. At least in the Philippines if the police are lazy, we have barangay patrol. They are like security guards. They will help you. We have regular security guards too. Also, you can "make a donation" to them to get them to act. In America, you have no protections. You don't dare try to talk to your neighbors, because they could shoot you!

 

We have moved around a lot, trying to find a quiet and clean place. But the cities have thugs and gangsters, and the provinces have rednecks and hillbillies. Is there any place here that is quiet? 8 years searching!

Here is my suggestion...Just go back to Philippines were you can get all the peace and quiet you want there...Ijs...

.....there is a Philippines Airlines non-stop to Manila everyday from the USA....TAKE IT!!!

Well that is fairly jaded view of the USA.   It's hard for me to imagine what types of neighborhoods you must be living in.  Honestly it sounds like perhaps very low income areas.  As there are plenty of nice communities in the USA that have more upscale living much as there are subdivisions in the Philippines where living is much different than life in the poorest of the barangays.   I suspect that there is some exaggeration in your post and that some of it is venting but if you are living on the lower end of the income scale in the USA then I can imagine that life could be a little tough in the USA.    Others have suggested that if you don't like it you should leave and done so in perhaps not such a nice way but the truth is that if you are living in a low income situation in the USA and you may well be much better off in the Philippines especially if you could spend a couple of years building up some savings or find a job in one of the many call centers in the Philippines.  No doubt after this long in the USA you would be an extremely valuable asset to a call center in the Philippines

Damn, girl/boy. What kind of slums have you been living at? O.o Trust me, there are nice neighbourhoods,  sometimes even poorer ones.

The US really does not have "provinces", that's Canada, etc.  Sounds like you have not moved far enough out of the big cities.  You say you have been here for 8 years and still in a poverty situation?  Move to a more conservative state. Go to a town with less than 50,000 population where everyone has guns.  Guns make for friendly neighbors.

As I said, I have lived in the small towns. 500-3,000 people. 50,000 as well. And many in between. Rednecks with guns, loud trucks, music, fireworks...

"You don't like it here, GET OUT!" mentality makes me wonder why anyone wants to live in this country.

 

So what you people are basically saying is, Americans are loud, and there is no place that is quiet? None at all? Not one state? Not one town?

1.  "Your rent buys your neighbors."  This goes for motel rooms and places of permanent residence.

2.  If we're unhappy about a situation, there are two paths:  change the situation, or remove ourselves from it.
