K1 visa processing stage

Hello guys,

 

Please i need some clarifications in regards to the K1 visa application.

 

My fiance applied in january 2018, and he was scheduled for an interview on the 15th of march. He was given an envelope and he mailed it to Lewisville TX.

At what stage are we?

How long do we have to wait to get a notification?

How long does the whole processing take?

From filing to visa on hand, K1 is taking approx 8-10 months at the moment. From submitting your packet to the lockbox to the first notification aka NOA1, its 8-9 days. See all the timelines here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical

 

did you mean to say that your fiance applied in jan 2017? if you filed indeed in jan 2018, there is no way you could have had an interview already this month, unless it was expedited. did you expedite?

N-400     28-Jun-21 Filed online ~ 28-Jun-21 Received NOA + "Biometrics will be re-used" notice ~ 14-Dec-21 Interview scheduled ~ 25-Jan-22 Interview. Approved. Case status: Oath will be scheduled.  ~ 01-Feb-22 Oath scheduled. ~ 14-Feb-22 Oath ceremony.   

ROC        11-Jun-20 Application sent via FedEx ~ 16-Jun-20 Case received ~ 29-Jun-20 (Old) biometrics applied to case ~ 01-Jul-20 NOA ~ 23-Dec-21 Case transferred to new office ~ 25-Jan-22 Combo interview with N400. Case approved.

It doesn’t sound like fiancé visa process. Are you sure you applied for K-1 visa? Using form I-129f?

Yes he filed in Jan 2018. This year

I am the one that is out of the US, seeking to join him.

 

He went for the interview in the US, on the 15th of march,2018 and he was directed to mail an envelope to lockbox.

 

I am confused, dont know how it works.

ok, this is a misunderstanding. there is no interview for the petitioner (ie the US citizen). the beneficiary (ie you) will be the one interviewed at the US embassy where you live and this happens way later in the process. i suggest you read through the flowchart above because it describes the process in detail and will help you understand where you are in the process, what to do and what to expect.
