Significant Change in Income Before Interview

Hi All,

I'm awaiting the scheduling of an interview for my husband after sending in our only checklist item (missing police cert). I'm hoping someone can advise on a change in income situation.

My husband and I (the USC), were previously living in his home country of Cyprus. I wasn't working while we were in Cyprus, so I had my mother as a joint sponsor and my father adding his income as a qualifying household member. The income between them was well above what is required. At the end of January, my husband accompanied me back to New York so I could accept a job in New York (he's here on a B1/B2 visa). In the meantime, my mother left her job, has taken a new job and when they file their taxes, their combined income will be lower (but still very comfortably over the threshold for a family of 4- my father alone makes around 56k, and my mother's would be around 10k, so a total of 66k vs what was filed with the original AOS of 96k.  My question-  will this be an issue at the interview when my husband brings the updated tax information? We are clearly still over the threshold. Also, my job alone brings us over the threshold (I will not be filing taxes until next year since I started the end of January) - should I fill out an AOS? I can provide pay stubs and a contract.

My initial thought is that I shouldn't have an issue, since my parents are still over the threshold- but it is a significant decrease in income. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? I'm a bit worried knowing that his interview date is imminent.

Should be no problem at all.  They may not even ask for the updated tax returns.  Belt and suspenders thinking would have you bring not only the new tax return but a complete new set of I-864 and I-864a from the parents.  However, I would reverse who does which form as it is Dad who is the main breadwinner.
