I've been lurking and reading various threads and I'm worried about my fiancé's prior drug use. He's been clean for nearly ten years but of course, we can't lie about him ever doing drugs. Do you think it's likely that they will make him do a year's worth of testing?

Number One Rule! Do not Worry! I know it is easier said then done, but while my husband was in El Salvador, I worried my self sick to the point I had to take an anxiety medication to be able to get to sleep after 50 hours of no sleep, literally. My husband situation was that he tried an illegal drug and admitted to it at the medical exam about 8 years ago. I thought it was the end, there was a ban or he would have to do a years worth of testing.  That is because i kept reading into different stories. At the end of it he went to a psychologist which told him that it was not within a year. He had to be clean for a year to be able to avoid the testing. Which he was, so when he went to his interview they did not even ask him or question him, it was all good. You will see everything will turn out just fine and the way it was supposed to. Seeing that it was ten years ago, hes fine!

In London at Knightsbridge clinic, they will ask. If he admits yes, he will have the optional test for drugs. If clean, then he should be fine for the visa. If he has drug/alcohol related incidents on his police report or medical summary from his GP, it could be looked at more closely.
