I kinda doubt that would affect your background check. If they were to run a quick check on your father, I presume it would be by his name and not by his city of birth. At this point, there is nothing much that you can do about it. You can try to send in an e-Request by selecting typographical error followed by 'other - provide details' and give the relevant explanation and correct place of birth. However, please know that typographical correction via e-Request is usually to correct error found on documents or cards issued by the USCIS, not error made by applicant.

When you finally have your AOS interview, you can bring an amended I-485 and pass it to the interviewing officer and explain the error. Again, it probably won't change or affect anything.
