Just got this mail from us embassy Islamabad

its mean my visa has been refused or what i am totaly counfused please if anyone about this matter shear with me

Thank you for writing to our office. Your immigrant visa case has been refused under INA Section 221(g) for administrative processing, an integral part of the visa adjudication and issuance process that can neither be expedited nor waived. Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict the amount of time the processing will take and timing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case. The visa application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete.

Administrative processing can be quite lengthy....even months and (in some cases) years.

And your question is? If about AP, like the letter stated, it's an integral part of the process. Everyone goes through it at some point after the interview, some last 2-3 days, some 2-3 weeks, some 2-3 months, and even some 1+ years.

Sometimes it takes a little time for the system to update and reflect actual status.

Some countries have much more stringent background checking than others.  If they still have the passport you are not denied.  Unfortunately you do have to be patient and allow them to do what they need to do.  Did they ever ask you for any additional information?

What did the CO say when he or she handed you 221G? He could have said, we need more time on your application or did he say he is not satisfied in one way or the other.  Did you ask him or her if this was a denial or something else.  As John said, its not a denial if they kept your passport.  It can takes weeks or a few months.

07/27/17 - K1 packet sent at the end of day.

07/31/17 - NOA1

03/22/18 - NOA2

08/28/18 - expected date for medical completion - Sputum test was needed

09/22/18 - anticipated interview date
