Hello Folks,   My K 1   application was received at dallas lock box today.  I have been reading about time to approval.  Looks like 6 months if I am lucky.  I wonder if the approval process could be any shorter than that.

I assume the application goes to the TSC but I dont know that for sure. Some service centers  appear to have shorter turn around time. Any ideas if things move faster in 2018?

The time to approval is very fluid and unpredictable.  Could be shorter, could go longer.  Your petition was sent to the lockbox in Dallas but will likely get assigned to California

YMMV

The I-129F will be transferred to CSC (California).  Current processing time according to their new site is 5-7.5 months.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

yes my was redirected to California - my journey started 8/1/17 and finally the  interview is april 5th. With the way immigration is being treated currently in the US it seems like there has been longer delays in processing times so chances are they’re using a lot of the resources for cleaning up existing immigration files here in the US and perhaps that’s why it’s taking longer although I’m speculating but be prepared for anywhere between six months to nine months

Thanks for the updates.  I am hoping for the shorter of the two naturally.  I am hoping it is done by Christmas  2018. We did the application together.  As far as I know the information is  complete and accurate. I have passed many background checks over the years and there will be no surprises there. I sent passport along with Birth Certificate.  for the three of us.(daughter). Everything is cataloged and referenced so  a monkey could read it.  At this point I can only hope, pray and be patient. Patient is the hard part. We are doing everything by the book. It irritates me that there are people swiming the Rio Grande every day and night and welcomed to a sanctuary city, given drivers license and welfare and food stamps. I am a proud American citizen and have to be grilled like a hamburger to bring a very fine girl to this country.  I appreciate the fact that I / we are doing things legally which protects both of us but am aggravated with the treatment that folks with no respect for the laws of this country get off so easily.

I apologize but I don't understand the "grilling" comment.  The I-129F is not a grilling, but a filing that contains mostly informational data requests.

YMMV

Yes,   and I am fine with producing this information.  It took many hrs. to gather and compile this information and put it into govt required format.   I have a problem with the folks that enter illegally, fill out no forms, provide no information, break the laws of this country and have an entitlement attitude when they get here backed up by reinforcement of social programs that Legal US citizens pay for with tax dollars earned legally and shielded from prosecution from the laws they break.   I was born here. My family fought wars to provide me the opportunity to live in a free country and have the opportunity to travel where I want and marry who I want.

I believe many people would agree with what you just said...  My comment was about the process being "grilling" which it is not.

We are not here to be ignorant or pass judgement on those who enter the US through means other than legal visa processes.

We are here to support each other with the legal and correct journey to being with our loved one.

Just provide everything required and fill out all forms correctly and you will be fine.

Is it being ignorant to respect the laws of this country while complaining about the ease of entry the people that dont respect the laws of the country they so desperately want to live  in.  Or is it ignorant to break them and expect a reward?   I made a comment and someone asked me to explain what I meant.

This is a forum for being proactive not a place to raise political complaints. There are plenty of other forums online for that.

As someone who has just spent the last 8 months waiting for approval in this process (losing hair during it as well from the stress), I have learned that the people on VJ are extremely helpful and supportive and full of knowledge.  I'm sure that the members have a full range of political view points  but this is not the place for them.   I realize tone doesn't always come across as one thinks whilst writing, but it can come across in a negative way more often than not.  That being said, my mother always said you get more bees with honey.
Being extremely organised with the paperwork does not matter as much as you'd think as this process doesn't make sense - they don't go in order and some are left waiting for reasons we are never told.
I wish you luck in your process.

I have just experienced it first hand.  We received our NOA1 in August 3rd of 2017, received our NOA2 February 22nd of 2018.  She just had her interview in Manila yesterday (March 22, 2018) and her Visa was issued today (March 23rd).  She should receive her Visa in 7-10 days.  It says to wait at least a week in between Medical and Interview.  She scheduled her Medical for Monday the 19th, finished Tuesday the 20th and interview was Thursday the 22nd and lasted about 20 minutes.
