Hi Guys! This is new topic. So my son got his CRBA last year. Now my fiancee is asking if its possible to get Kaleb's SSN here? He wants to include Kaleb as his dependent when he files for his Taxes in April. I searched the website of US Embassy Manila but didnt find anything useful.

My son got his CRBA and US passport in Mexico. I was able to take his passport to the Social Security office with his birth certificate and get his card without him being present.

You make an appointment with the FBU at the embassy and go in and apply for the SSN

Question. How was @payxibka to know that you had done a search before you came to VJ and ask your question?

He/she was trying to help you and you dump on them. Do you know the number of people that are so lazy that they don't bother to do an online search with Google or some other search engine. Sometimes when I get someone asking a question that I don't have an answer to I'll do a Google search and give the answer to the OP. They could have done exactly the same thing. And most don't thank you for your answer or you never hear from them as they got what they wanted.

We can all work together to solve the questions folks like you have. I hope you feel the same and you'll give back by returning back here and tell us what you did to get your son his SSAN. That way someone else someday will be searching for this information and they will appreciate your follow-up post to your experience.

Actually she did say she searched the Embassy site but did not find anything useful.  My search found the needed page for the FBU unit, including contact information, which to me is incredibly useful...

YMMV
