Hi,

I'm new to this board, please help me.

My 2-year conditional Green Card will expire by December 15 of this year and I plan to travel outside of USA in January 2008 for 2 months.

For my case/situation, WHEN should I send my I-751 to Texas Service Center in order to get my Permanent Green Card in-time for my travel? Should I send my I-751 before 90 days of the Conditional Green Card expiration date in December?

I want to make sure I don't have any problem which may prevent me from coming back into USA after my trip aboard in January 2008. Please advise. Thank you very much for your help.

The earliest you can for for Removal of Conditions is 90 days before the expiry date on your greencard.... once you have filed the form you will recieve a NOA extending your Green card for 1 year.... use this with your expired greencard to travel....

yep, like the above stated, so if you mail inthe 751 right away within ur 90 day timeframe, you should have the NOA prior to u departing!! iguess then one has to copnsider when the biometrics appt letter will come!! Not a big deal if you have soemone that can check and open ur mail, and if ur going to be away, just follow the easy instructions included on the letter on how to reschedule!! For me was simple as checking the box on the Biometrics letter and sending it back to the address provided. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
