Evidence for student worker on campus with i 485

Hi,

I work 19 hrs on campus at my local community college. When filing my AOS do I have to submit evidence that I am employed by the school? I also didnt received a work permit because I work on campus.

Another question when submitting evidence , do I have to submit my old I 20 as well or just the new one ( i had to get a new one to extend my stay to finish school)?

Thanks

Yes, you have to submit all your I-20s. I am assuming that you are on F1? Are you counting your income towards the total income on the I-485 form?

That is not correct. Spouses of USC do NOT need to provide proof of lawful status, only that they entered legally.

hi,

My question was, I have an on campus job at my school, which doesn't require a work permit. I just asked if I needed to provide a job letter stating that I work on campus. No I wont be using my income on from I-864 as my wife makes WELL over the amount needed.

Next, I just was asking If i need to submit my previous I 20 as well or just submit the new one that I have with the from I 485?

Thanks

If i understand your case correctly from previous posts, you are the spouse of USC. If that is the case you do not need to submit i-20 as part of your AOS package.

Again as the spouse of USC it doesn't make make a difference whether your are still in status or not. It is irrelevant to your AOS. It wont hurt or help you.

If your spouse makes enough money, then you do not need to provide any job letter etc.

@azblkI was advised by my lawyer to submit all of my I-20s. Can't hurt?

Well,

I just browsed through the I-485 instruction form. It does say that you can submit the I-20 as evidence to provide lawful status.

Read and understand, don't browse. Evidence of lawful status only required for family categories and not for immediate relatives.

If it can’t help or hurt, I’d include it just because you’ll feel better if you do . Better safe than sorry. 🤷🏽‍♀️
