Hi Washingtonian and cttd,

After reading both or your posts, I kept wondering does USCIS take longer N400 processing for people like us who are combo filers?

My ROC case was sent in November 2017 (almost 22 months!) and N400 in October 2018.

My case estimated case completion (according to myUSCIS) is February 2020, which means 16 months since I will have filed the N400.

Are there any combo I-751/N-400 filers in this forum?

Is the estimated date of completion accurate? Have you seen other ROC/N400 cases and observed that takes longer?

I need a Valium!

It seems like they are taking longer which doesn't make sense since it's been forever that we've filed removal of conditions. My case completion was September 2019 and then it switched to "We're taking longer to process your case."

I found another person in another thread who has the same situation as us.

I wonder if there is anything that can be done on our side.

For example, my I751 second extension stamp expires next January 2020.

My estimated case completion is February 2020.

I have a strong hunch that my N400 will be longer that 16 months.

I will have to go to Tukwilla in December 2019 to get a third I-751 stamp.

My question is...is still possible to schedule Infopasses on-line?

And if so, will it be possible to talk to an officer and make sure both of my cases (ROC+N400) are combined?

I was planning to "use" the Infopass to try to push it.

You can't schedule it online. You have to call USCIS customer service, talk to a first tier officer about it. After that they will have a second tier officer call you within 48-72 hours to schedule you an appointment. You must answer or you gotta do it all over again.

Thank you so much! I have just realized it.

Also, for combo filers, our I-751 processing time is beyond the expected one. I may file an e-request for not having received a letter to support the extension of Green Card.

I hope that by calling Customer Service I will get another infopass scheduled before my second stamp expires.

If not, I may have to dance acrobatics under the I-5 bridge because I won't be able to be employed!

:(

The stamp is just the proof of status, not the status itself. Why would you not be able to be employed? I never even bothered getting a stamp. I'm getting my first one now since I might have to travel outside the country soon despite having the expired extension letter since February.

For your case Washingtonian, i think you should contact senator and state representative. Im worried about my case too even though they told me they will be adjudicated at the same time

Hi Washington,

Yes, it's not clear what is the real "role" of the blue stamp for those combo filers like us.

What I did is I got the Nexus/Global Entry card like 2 years ago. When I filed for citizenship, I drove back to Blaine and told both the US and the Canadian Immigration Officer about my complicated "combo" I751/N400 situation.

I visited Canada last weekend and showed them my unexpired Nexus card and I had no problems at all!

At the airport, it's a different story. The GC doesn't work in the Global Entry kiosks. So you have to come up to the Immigration Officer and show them your I751 stamp and also the Naturalization work-in-progress paperwork.

The whole thing is pushing us to be very creative (and helpful to other people that are in similar situations). :)

I'll be going to Europe so I'll definitely need a stamp. I just scheduled an infopass to get it on friday. I will ask them in detail about my case and hopefully I can find out some helpful information. I will update you.

Thank you so much!

On my side, yesterday I sent an e-request using "Outside normal processing time" for the I-751 (almost 23 months!! 690 days!!!). I also mentioned that I filed for N-400. My hope is that by moving my I-751 folder (may be from the National Benefit Center to Tukwilla), this can also "push" the N-400 case.

As far as for travelling, I anticipated having "issues" with the whole naturalization journey. So like 2 years ago I applied for  Global Entry.

It's super helpful when you travel by air. You must update CBP office about any single move that your case goes through. It has facilitated a lot my entries to the U.S. ever since I filed for Naturalization.
