Another question to the group. I will be a combo N400/I751 (ROC) interviewee. Do you have to call in advance to let them know?

I mean..do you need to talk to the National Service Center and remind them that they need to lift the conditions for the permanent residency first?

What exactly do you do when you know you will be a combo interviewee?

@Ck207 went through the same process and I believe she was initially scheduled for a combo, but then things got scrambled and she will be interviewing on May 2nd for 1 of them with the hope that they can finalize the N400 case in the same interview. It might be a good idea to schedule something with infopass to inform them.

Quick question that anyone can answer: do you know what is the date of the latest case being process? I filed at the end of October of 2018...it seems an eternity!

It seems that it has been taking approximately 14 months between the moment that you file and the time of the interview.

I am just curious to know what is the latest case. Maybe February or March 2018?

Thank you!

The latest comer to this thread had a priority date by end of March 2018. So probably they started with the early April ones now?

If the schedule remains the same, they should contact early November to schedule an interview by December. This has been an awesome thread honestly. You should keep it alive to get more info on other people's cases.

Good luck

Thank you so much for all the information. The thread has been amazing and people have been very helpful with each other! :)

I might schedule an infopass appointment before November, so I can give them the heads up in terms of a combo interview.

My letter for the 18-month extension of Green Card expires this July and USCIS (after I wrote to them) assured me that they will be conducting a combo interview.

I don't know exactly what to do between July and the predicted date for the interview (December 2019). So far,  I have a nice black stamp extending the GC until January 2020. But they have not sent me a letter backing me up.

I am very concerned about Custom & Borders control, because last time they "didn't like" the extension of GC as a stamp. The Immigration Offficer even asked me "where did you get that stamp?"

I was tempted to tell him "In Walmart" "they were on sale!". But I was respectful enough.

I might have to update the Global Entry record and let them know that everything is  a big mess. ;)

Congratulation on your interview. I worry a lot like you, and was nervous as well. But now i feel like i was very over reacting to it. It was short and sweet. Nothing to worry about.

My officer was super nice, and other officers i seen while waiting, seemed really nice as well. I was suprised how flexible they were as well. They were really trying to help me with process.

Also they dont allow you to even check in before 30 min. Once you check in, you get a ticket, but it didnt seem like they call you in in that order.. I hope your interview goes well. You are very close to the end!

I know. I can’t wait this to be over with. I am happy that we all are approaching the end of our journey. Thanks guys :)

I am nervous to the point where I really can't stand it. It's been a very long painful process for me, and I cannot wait to complete my journey.

So you are not alone in this, I have been studying the questions, my application and all the dates just to make sure I don't miss anything...Now I am freaking out about what to wear to the interview tomorrow, do I need to go full suit and tie or business casual. Any recommendations on this?

I seriously know what you are talking about. I am trying to calm myself down and be prepared. You will be fine. We all will be fine. I also was thinking what will I wear. So I decided I will just wear what I usually wear to work. Seattle business causal

Well, I just got back home from my interview, unfortunately it didn't go through as I expected it, nor similar to the others on this forum.

My officer unfortunately was very dry, intimidating and made me very anxious. So here's how it went:

My appointment was at 9:45 am, I arrived along with my wife at around 8:45 to be there early instead of late due to May Day. They didn't allow us to check in before 9:15 which was something I expected. At 9:15 checked in and went upstairs to the second floor and waited. My lawyer arrived around 9:40 and my number was called at 10:05.

The officer greeted us at the door and showed us where to go, she was very strict and didn't even smile the whole time. She asked me to sit down and answer her questions, which I did and passed the English and the civics test without any issues. The officer asked to start reviewing the application, which I gladly did. During the whole time even when she asked me about my name, it felt that she was challenging me, which made me feel very uncomfortable. We got to the yes/no questions, and we started reviewing the application and the answers that she had on her screen did not match with the hard copy that I submitted to her and the one that I can see uploaded onto the USCIS account. When my lawyer interrupted to tell her that what she has are different, she simply said that's what I can see here and not even once she looked at the hardcopy that she has in front of her. Anyhow, after we finished the application review she told me that I passed the test, but she can't make a decision on my case as of now. So told us to leave and if she needs anything they will be in contact.

I don't know how I feel about this, my lawyer said that it went well and hopefully I will hear from them with the Oath request but as of now nothing can be done. So I will just continue to wait on the next steps, which is not a happy feeling.

Anyhow, I hope that no one of you go through the same experience and I hope that everyone gets accepted on the spot. Best of luck all and I will update all of you on my status once I get hopefully an approval from them.

Don’t be too hard on yourself it’s normal to have interviews like that. Just keep an eye on your status, chances are it will change to approved soon. Not everyone gets the recommendation for approval same day as some officers don’t have authority and a supervisor will be the one to cross the final t’s or dot the i’s.

Provided there is nothing really complicated with your application you’ll be approved. Many Vjer’s here have had a similar experience and later approved in like a week or so. Good luck!

Nahhhh, stay positive :)

there are tens of officers there, so don't worry about it. The interview and the process is really easy peasy...my case is a bit complicated. You'll be just fine and hopefully you'll get the same day oath as well...let us know how it goes with you

Hello everyone,

I just got back from my interview. I think my experience is good for someone who are filling N400 with their I751 pending.

Quick update: I passed my I751. It was easy. He asked how did we meet? When and where did we get married? When did I move to Korean? When did we move to the US? Why did we move to the US?

We lived in 3 different countries together.

I came prepare with bunch of evidences.

After the I751 interview, I told him that

- can I have my N400 interview? He said he did not see it on file. I told him well it’s there. I filed it and got deschedule. He told me to go and waited outside for 5 mins. He called us back in and said he could not do my N400 interview even if he wanted too. I was descheduled and the system won’t let him to do it. He said I need to wait for 6 weeks. That is how they schedule now, their slot, whatever that meant.

So I asked. Would it be 6 weeks since I got deschedule or 6 weeks since today. He said he does not know and I will get my green card in the mail in 2-3 weeks.

i left the building with my husband and got a call from him. He said “I told you you will get your green card in 2-3 weeks. It won’t happen. We won’t send you a green card since you have your N400 interview coming up pretty soon. The system won’t let me send it to you. You will however still be updated in our system, your status will change as we approved your I751. You need to wait for your interview. If your extension stamp on your passport expired before you get your interview, please come back and we will stamp it to you.”

so so now I will just need to wait for couple more months I guess. Guys!! They don’t have their shits together.

Hi CK207!

I am very happy that you passed your I751 interview! Congratulations!!

I am in the same situation as you.  I filed I751 (in November 2017) and N400 (at the end of October 2018).

I emailed USCIS about the I751 and they replied saying that both I751 and N400 will be adjudicated at the same time.

I went in person and made an Infopass in January 2019 and the woman told me the same.

The big question is...for those of us that are on combo situation...what do we have to do to make it happen at the same time? Do we have to call them before? Don't they know that?

Do we have to do another infopass before the interview to refresh their Standard Operating Procedure?

It's very puzzling!

Hi GermanG,

Usually it should be adjusted together, you should not worry about it. They just messed my case up. You should be ok. I dont think you will have the same situation like mine.

Congrats on passing your I751 @Ck207

I just wish that one of those officers would be in our shoes for a moment and see how they would rate their own level of service. The inefficiency is not acceptable, I am not sure if it's just low bar employment of they train them to become super lazy. It's sad to see our tax money at work like this :(
Good luck with the N-400 scheduling and interview, keep us posted.
