Hello everyone,

By looking at the spreadsheet, seems like there has not been any progress in case processing for a while now. I have filed 15 months ago and my status has been the same since I filed my application! Is this normal? Can I do any thing to expedite the process?

@kocher looks like they are interviewing June 2020 folks. If you applied in June 2020 you are probably close to getting an interview.  Crossing my fingers for you.

Hi, if anyone has attended a group oath ceremony in Tuwila, did you happen to see any parents bring their children to the ceremony? We are wondering whether our boys (3 and 8 years) will be allowed to attend. Thanks in advance!

Hi!

im taking my oath on September 24th and hoping To get my passport ASAP so I can travel to see dying relative. I know it’s taking forever so hoping to get an emergency appointment - does Anyone know the latest process? I’ve been on websites but the info is different from friends experience. Help!

Should I book a flight and book an appointment before I go in for my oath (for after the oath) or wait inrol I take my oath?

TIA!

Have a ticket booked and do walkin at seattle passport office. Folks have successfully got passport processed for urgent travel. Good luck

Today was the day!

Seattle appointment at 10:15am, delayed slightly by a long and slow queue to get checked in.
My interview was with a very friendly officer from the Spokane office via an iPad.
In total it took about 20 minutes, and I was approved right there.

My questions were (can’t remember the exact order):

  1. Who signs bills in to law?
  2. Name a US territory?
  3. What party is the President part of?
  4. What month do we vote for president?
  5. How long do we elect a senator for?

I had my own USCIS binder of paperwork with me (copies of all my previous filings, plus copies of birth certificates, marriage certificate, and updated bank and mortgage statements), but none were asked for. After the call was done (and I signed the final bit of paper) they took my green card and directed me back to the waiting room, letting me know it would be about an hour’s wait until I could take my oath.

In less than 10 minutes a group of six or eight of us were called in to a room and the officer checked we were all there, reading out our names from the stack of citizen ‘packs’. Then we read out the oath, and were handed our packets! All done!

She advised us to get going with our passport applications, as the wait time is like 3+ months right now (I have my appointment booked for tomorrow for some time now) and before I knew it I was back out at my car and on my way home. I registered to vote using the online form right when I got home!

I want to extend a massive thanks to everyone here;  when my dates were months away, it was awesome to follow along with you all as you made your way through the system. I wish everyone else who’s still waiting the very best and know it will all be done in time.

My turn, I got approved yesterday!

Seattle appointment was at 12:00pm, got there just a few minutes earlier and the guard let me in immediately (skipped those who were waiting for biometrics). Went to the restroom before going to the waiting area and sat down, by that time I got there, a very kind person who was going to his interview told me they have already called my number :).. so I got closer to the door and they called me in again a couple of minutes after.

Similar experience as @leethompson, a very nice officer from Spokane office and it was via the iPad. Just a little weird situation (which is fine for me) is that the officer was called in to help somebody and I had to wait for about 5-6 minutes for him to comeback. After that the interview took 15-20 minutes.

Questions asked:

1. What does the Constitution do?

2. Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

3. How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

4. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

5. What is the highest court in the United States?

6. Who was the first President?

I was done with my interview by 12:30pm and waited almost 30 min to take my oath.

By 1:30 pm I was out of the USCIS office and heading to get my Enhanced Id at the DOL Renton office. Although I got my appointment at 2:30pm, they took me in before 2pm.. There was a little bit of a long wait there and I wasn't super prepared for this one, I had to go back to my car a couple of times, fist because I needed another proof of residence besides my existing drivers license and the second time because I left my wallet there the first time. Got done with this appointment by 2:30 pm and they will mail my Enhanced Id in 7-10 days.

When I got out of the DOL office, I was internally debating whether I still had time to go the passport office in Bellevue since I booked an appointment at 2:45pm. For whatever reason I wasted a few minutes hesitating and decided to go, got there almost at 3pm and there was a family of 6 getting their passports, they took around 20 minutes to get done. When the guy saw me he was kind of surprised since I guess he was ready to call it a day and first told me it was late and then he asked if I had everything ready (which I had) and took me in. We were done in 5 minutes and I applied for both passport card and book with expedited service (6-12 weeks wait time :(). I had to give away my Naturalization certificate but the guy was nice enough to make a copy for me and he told me I'll be getting this back within 2 weeks.

By 3:30pm I was done with all naturalization paperwork related stuff that I had planned (probably the most productive day in regards to this matter in my life). I still have to update my SSN but I will wait until I have my passport card for that.

Thank you to everybody in this amazing community, I apologize for not being so active but I hope sharing my experience is helpful to others.

Congratulations! I am glad to see the Seattle FO slowly trudging along. The wife has a year or so (at minimum, online est. just jumped to 18 mo) before they will reach her case. So for now, we just sit and patiently wait

G’day my fellow immigrants!

Frankly, 14 months ago in august 2020, i thought that at this time in 2021, my N-400 would be not only approved, but freshly printed passport would lay in my pocket…..didn’t happened, yet.  However, there was be a nice discount, and in august 2020 me and my spouse bought a tickets for Caribbean cruise in beginning of january 2022.  Well, it’s obvious now, that even if miraculously, on coming monday, i would be scheduled for an interview at uscis (for 10-20th of november), with super high probability i wouldn’t receive my US passport before our trip (expedited passport service take now up to 12 weeks).

So, i have plan B: to apply at Seattle Passport Agency, 3 business days before international trip, and receive my passport on the same day.

Does anyone here has experience with applying for their 1st passport at Seattle Passport Agency? Or plans to do so?

Goodluck.  I applied in September 2020.  Wishing hoping and praying.  I'm trying to write a letter to my congressman cause i think the Seattle office is simply super slow.  Had to believe some people who filled in 2021 in some offices are already citizens yet we are still waiting.

A lot of people from 2020 are being impacted by the COVID shutdown of the Federal Records Center in Lee's Sumit. Many of the paper A-files for these cases have been archived by USCIS at this location. The location is still operating under COVID protocols which is significantly delaying cases. Not saying you are necessarily one of them but it is a known issue right now impacting 2020 N400 cases.
