I did a walk in for biometrics back in December. Unless their policies have changed, you should be able to do the same.

Awesome. How would I double check ? Call and ask ?  Does walk in mean I go in a different day than the one noted in my biometric letter ? Correct ?

I’m not sure... I saw that some people had walked in so I took a chance and showed up a few days after I got the letter. Yes, it means any date/time before your appointed time.

Seattle office is pretty generous with walk ins. You should be able to do so before your actual appointment date, and it works even better when they’re not busy. Just take a leap of faith and show up, you should be able to squeeze in so your biometrics can be captured.

I am halted at entering my selective service number and date of registration during my application. I check the SS page and tried to check my registration but it kept saying my info/captcha is failed.  I tried more than 3 times and failed.  What should I do to get those info as it is not letting me move forward without them ?

Also are dates of work and of living in the past 5 years has to be 100% accurate or rough dates is okay ? I have hard time remembering th4 exact dates esp the time I was outside the US.

I have found my ssn. I kept trying until page brought my info. Issue has resolved thank God.

I still have my question regarding dates of traveling and work. Please help me relieve my stress about my imperfect memory.

One more interesting question, I have the date of being resident since is different from my old and new GC.  The old date is  02/28/2016 and the new date is 04/18/16 so which one I should pick to type in my application? And should I contact USCis about this mistake or no ?

Hello all my Seattle fellas!

It seems like it makes more sense to provide dp here given that N400 processing timeline is based on field office.

I filed my N400 on Jan 29, 2019 and did my bio this morning. The actual process was less than 5 minutes while the waiting for the line was about an hour or so (Got in at 11ish).

I logged in my USCIS account today, looks like the time estimate now is Feb 2020. Last time I checked, it was April 2020. Hopefully next time I check, it will shorten even more. Anyways! Wish everyone here getting their citizenship soon!

RIght, as mentioned above i was the unlucky one who had an interview scheduled on the day they were closed. I'm waiting for them to reschedule at this point. I tried calling their 1800 number and seeing if i could reschedule but they told me i could only follow instructions in the mail i got with the appointment. The mail said "Return this letter to us if you need to reschedule" which at this point was impossible. They wouldn't let me do it via phone. So yeah. The worst case scenario for me would've been them staying open and me not being able to make it to them.

I checked in the morning in the Seattle office page and it said right there they were closed.

Update on that: my interview has been rescheduled automatically, to Mar 26.

I'm the beneficiary.

So you didn't have to mail them anything?  That's great.  Glad they rescheduled it without hassle!

yeah in the end it played out this way: the office was closed and it was an interview they scheduled so they auto-reschedule. If i had to move it i'd have to mail them. If it was an infopass scheduled by me i'd also have to manually reschedule.

I'm the beneficiary.

Those estimates bounce the whole place and are not an accurate representation of your processing time line so you should take them with a grain of salt. Your best bet to get an accurate representation of processing timeline is to see the current priority dates being worked on. That way you'll know how for Seattle Field office has gone. Either way it will be a slow agonizing wait taking at-least a year though because Seattle office is among the worse in the nation in terms of processing. They will need to really speed up processing to deal with this backlog.

Hey guys... did they take your picture at the biometrics appointment?  I don't remember that happening with me, but my husband remembers they took his.

Yes they did take my picture at all biometric appointments I had from adjustment of status, removal of conditions and the most recent application for naturalization. It's the picture they're suppose to use to issue your official USCIS document such as EAD, Green Card or Naturalization Certificate. If for some reason the person capturing your fingerprints forgot to take one for you, there's a chance they may use the most recent one they have in the system for you on your naturalization certificate or request a hardcopy as an RFE. To be 100% on a safe side and not having to do a RFE for a picture further delaying your naturalization, I'll advise you to carry 2 passport size photographs on the day of you N-400 interview and bring this issue up with the officer. USCIS has been known to also use hardcopy pictures on the certificate of naturalization, and sometimes asking for it as an RFE after interview in cases where the picture quality taken during biometrics was of poor quality.
