Where did you book your passport interview? I can't get any open slots at the Bellevue Bel Red USPS office.

I’m in Grays Harbor County. Plenty of slots here at our local post office.

Hi everyone 😊. I do have a question for someone who has gone through the interview under the 5 year rule or if you know the answer, that would be great.

When you attend the interview, I saw on the uscis website that they require tax transcripts :

1. Since the IRS only issues nothing more than 4 years at a time when I request , that means I'll be missing 1 year, how do I get get around that?

2. Do these transcripts need to be certified?

3. Besides the green card, ID and tax transcripts, what else would I need to bring with me?

Sorry for the long list 😊 and thank you in advance!

My naturalization interview has been scheduled for 3/24. I need to travel internationally on 3/26 and know already that I won’t have time to receive my new US passport. Is it possible to request at the interview that the oath be taken later? I don’t mind waiting a few extra months to complete the process.

Hello everyone, I’m new in this forum, I applied for citizenship November 2019 and still waiting for the interview, does anyone have an idea of when are November fillers getting interviewed? My wait time says February but I don’t think that’s accurate as it is almost March.

Based on this forum, they are now finished with Sept, and started in Oct. If you would say they are doing month by month, you would have about 1.5 month to go, but I think they are going much slower than this. I would say maybe 2.5-3 month, but keep us updated.

Do you have to give up your older passport from home country? or original citizenship? If not, I do not see a problem. You can just use your current passport. I think Seattle do auth the same day, not sure if you can ask that it would be different. I think what you can do, is call USCIS and reschedule your interview until your return, since you are not in a rush.

Other options to consider a (research), maybe a re-entry permit, but not sure if this can be used in replacement of a passport. Another option is travel document, but they are for refugee greencards, so there might be something equivalent.  You have to research, but those take time, and there might be ways to expedite it.

Act fast, I think your first option to consider is calling USCIS and reschedule your interview appointment.

Last June, after l passed my interview, the IO asked me if l wanted to take the oath immediately. So, l think you can say "no" and they will schedule your oath ceremony for a later date.

Hi Everyone -

I have a question regarding the civic test portion.

For a question like the one below

What does the Constitution do?

▪ sets up the government

▪ defines the government

▪ protects basic rights of Americans

Do we have give all the answers? If i reply protects the "basic rights of American", does that suffice?

Thanks!

Yes. Only one answer is required.

You won’t get the passport that fast - not even an expedited one. It’s actually a federal crime for a US citizen to enter the US using any other passport, even if they are dual citizens. Aside from that, your other passport has no valid visa or green card to show that you have permission to enter and not leave. If you arrive with any other passport and the CBP officer says “what’s the purpose of your visit here?” (as he will assume you are a visitor) and you say “actually I live here” you will have to show evidence of that, which you won’t have.

You should delay the oath.

Thank you! That’s very helpful. I have my interview on March 22 and have already booked my passport interview for the next morning. We are hoping to travel for our wedding anniversary in September so your timeline for the passport is very helpful.

You will have enough time to get ready for your anniversary travel.
I received the passport and my naturalization certificate returned today.
Although the interveiw process is very slow, the passport processing is not bad.
My passport was printed and mailed from Tucsan AZ.

N400 Apply: 08/12/2019
N400 Interview and oath: 01/27/2021
Passport Apply (regular processing): 01/29/2021 (I made this appointment at USPS as soon as my n400 interview was scheduled on 12/30/2020)
Passport was received by State Dept: 02/05/2021 (I was able to track my application since 2/5/2021)
Check cashed: 02/08/2021
