Anyone wants to share what questions did they ask you for the civil test?

here are the ones I was asked, Civics:

- there are 4 amendments about who can vote in constitution, describe one of them

- if something happens to the president, who will serve as president

- during the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States

- What is one reason colonists came to America

- what is one right or freedom from the First Amendment

- Who is in charge of the executive branch

Writing: we have one hundred senators

Remember the computer auto generates 10 out of the 100 questions of which you have to answer 6 of them right on the day of your interview. So there's a great probability the questions asked to someone here will certainly differ from yours. Your best bet is to study the guide on the booklet you were handed when you did your biometrics or you can go to your USCIS account there and practice online. USCIS online portal does a good job randomizing it.

That's true.

Additionally if you are planning to use the booklet they distribute at the USCIS offices, you only need to read the short answers. The booklet has additional text/paragraphs for each question to provide more context/background. You don't need to prepare for those, only short answers. Yesterday, I met a poor fella who had been studying the entire booklet. The booklet was colored with all sorts of highlights. 😂

Does anyone know why the case inquiry date went back to July? Just a couple days ago I saw October. I know the dates they show on uscis.gov are estimates and usually two-three months behind from the cases that are actually being reviewed at the moment and also some of you early December 2017 filers got the interview dates. Just curious to know why would they go back to showing July from October.

As you’ve already figured out now, those dates are estimates and should be taken with a grain a salt. They keep adjusting every month based on their case load and to prevent “unnecessary” inquiries by applicants and petitioners. Your best way to know where you stand is by keeping track on the priority dates of those who have been scheduled.

When those of us early December 2017 first filed, our case completion was stating October 2018. By May 2018 I knew it wasn’t gonna happen as there were still 2 August 2017 filers still waiting. Then it changed to January 2019 several weeks after and stayed like that. The estimated wait time was stating December 2017 as well.

Still I knew it was highly unlikely to be completed because it was until September 2017 when those August filers got interview notices. At that point I was able to accurately figure out that it took Seattle office 13 months to schedule an interview from priority date and boy I was spot on right.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on those new interviews and priority dates to get the picture, however; bear in mind that Seattle office is dangerously slow and it will be quite a wait unless they miraculously kick off speed.

Folks - My Account status has been on 'We scheduled your naturalization ceremony' since 29th morning. But the Notice has not been uploaded. I really wish to know what time/date I am scheduled for. Any ideas for how I can find out? As anyone else experienced such a long delay between a status change and when the scan of document shows up? it has always been within few hours for me, hence frustration. I have already called the customer support center and they said they cannot see the date.

Hey guys... please help me resolve this “dispute” with my sister. She had her interview last July in Chicago. (See attached) She says that for questions with multiple bullet points we have to learn all of them. I was under the impression that unless they ask for two, we only need to learn one of the points. Does anyone know which it is?

AFAKI all three answers are valid. You just need to say one. My own interview experience confirmed it.

I got the following email from USCIS this afternoon:

" Dear USCIS account holder, Due to a recent email outage, we were unable to send notices about case updates. We have fixed the problem, but to ensure you have the latest information on your case status, please log into your USCIS online account. "

It explains why I never received an email notification about my interview (and makes me feel safer 😅) . I wonder if any other Seattle filers were affected.
