I have nothing to complain about... July 31, 2020 filed online. My completion date timing (Seattle) was originally Oct 2021 now it’s Nov 2021. Makes me a wee bit grumpy. But I know I shouldn’t complain.

Personally I feel that this is exactly the type of thing we should be complaining about. If no one complains, nothing will change. We pay the same fees in Seattle as everyone else yet our cases take considerably longer.

I see people who filed in June of this year - a whole 9 months after I filed - who already have interview dates. I see September 2019 filers (that’s my filing date) from everywhere else in the country are already citizens and can therefore vote this November. My voice won’t count this November, purely because I live in western Washington. If I lived anywhere else it would.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I would not worry much about this. This exactly happened to me. Completion date pushed from April to May, but the estimated day below it still April. I hope your case is the same. The push one month also happened few month after I applied.

Yea, that makes sense lol. Hope you the best luck. We the people who applied in Seattle, they are still stuck in the August/ Sept fillers and things are moving very slowly. Now you can vote :)

Hi I had filed in Sep 2019 from Seattle. When did you file?

Also you mentioned Seattle is stuck in aug/sep. Have you seen cases earlier than that to be approved? I think i saw one case from May 2019 get citizenship, but not after that. Thanks.

Agreed. It's really hard to reconcile the discrimination based on field office. I mean, why wouldn't they centralize and work on the cases.

I am 2020 filler, but remember seeing someone was August filler mentioned he have an interview scheduled. Can not remember where did I see it. September filler started to report the count down starting. What does it mean? I do not know lol, but wishing it means things are coming up soon.

Hi Guys,

I created a google spreadsheet to track only Seattle cases. Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FcItCasVItCDsUNEbDu15IRQ-AbDMRJWsiljwtz5WRI/edit#gid=1497976778&fvid=1704592725

I tried to find such a tracker but couldn't find one for Seattle. I know there is a tracker on this website for all offices etc, but it's hard to consume and tracking cases via forum messages here is hard. Therefore request you to please add your cases in there. With the long wait times in Seattle, it will help us track and hopefully have better information at hand.

Thank you all,

Nice effort. This site as well have a tracker. It probably works of your timeline, but maybe you can dig more how to add your info. You can filter per city

https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?cfl=0&op1=6&op2=d&op3=&op4=1&op5=5,10,11&op6=All&op7=Seattle WA

Thanks. Yes, i had seen it earlier, but it's hard to get useful information. One has to spend time on it.

With the google spreadsheet we will have the ability to sort information and see everything in one page, and can easily find out the months that USCIS is currently processing for.

By the way, When i look at the tracker above, it build a grim picture. The interviews held at Seattle in  last 6 months have been from 9/2018 to 5/2019 timeframe.

Considering the really long processing times that Seattle USCIS has, I was wondering if moving to a different city has helped the case process faster. With many companies allowing work from home, it's a plausible scenario. Have you or anyone you know done that? Last month, i asked one of the immigration attorney over email. This is what she said:

" One of the requirements for filing the N-400 application is that the applicant must show at least a 90-day residency period in the CIS Service Center area where the application is being filed.  Yes, you can move to another city and then request a transfer of your file, but you will need to show that you have resided there for at least 90 days before your interview date, so it can become a bit complicated.

You would need to advise CIS of a change of address via the on-line form.  Then, Seattle CIS (via the National Benefits Center) would need to transfer your file to your new city office which might take a few weeks.  Then, you would need to be looking out for any CIS mail about the appointment as that is their primary way of notifying applicants about appointments.  "
