Non-combo filer here. After my biometrics my Estimated case completion was November 2020. Estimated wait time is October 2020.
On mid August both dates moved 1 month backwards.

On Saturday, Sep. 12. I checked my status on myuscis.com, my estimated case completion date changes to 30 days. Checked again today, it is now 26 days.

I read from other VJ members post that some will get their interview schedule once the countdown is up but others also gets the dreaded “We are taking longer than expected to process your case. “ status. I am hoping that I won’t get that status and be US citizen by the end of this year, at least something good happen after all these pandemic.

Congratulations! May I ask when did you file your case?

Hello guys, I just want to share my interview from today.

I arrived there at 7:00 am and went in. I waited on the line for photo an finger scan. I went upstairs and waited like an hour although my number was 7.

The lady called my number and she said "your interview will be different than others. Your interview will be "virtual" (be ready for this)

So, I entered the room, she left. There was an Ipad and an officer on zoom/skype. He said hello. I am officer ..., you can take of your mask, no one will be here other than us.

Asked my legal name, date of birth, phone number, and address. and next was civic test.

questions:

What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?

What do we show loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?

Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

Why does the flag have 50 stars?

What did Martin Luther King, Jr. do?

What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?

written test

he wanted me to write -> Columbus day is in October.

Reading test:

he wanted me read -> The president lives in White House

thats it. After those, lots of YES/NO questions from your application

We spent like 10 minutes extra beacuse I served in Army in my coutry and I had a weapon training. So he asked me lots of questions.

We waited like 10 minutes. His superior approved my application and he askmed me " Are you ready for oath? " I said "yes"

We did the oath ceremony and I got my neutralization paper for aply passport.. He clapped me and said "you are US citizen now, you can celebrate".

Thats all. If you guys have any extra questions, I will be here.

Congrats, One Question Did the Security gaurd ask you any questions about Covid 19 ? or was there any covid19 screening?

Those covid questions are like "ho how are you today" kinda. Everywhere I go, they ask :)

Exactly! I went to the doctor’s office today and they asked if I had any of the following symptoms... the list of symptoms covered every possible scenario. Cough, fever, sore throat, weakness, body aches, headache, diarrhea, sleepiness, vomiting, unusual pain, and so on. At the doctor’s office! I am guessing most people there had at least one of those symptoms.

Hey German. My passport application was approved today. It took almost 2 months.

Excellent! Mine has been cooking for 2 months already. Another trick is to apply for the Enhanced DL.

At least you can leave by land or sea. :)

Created an account today but have been watching this thread for more than a year now.

Applied for citizenship Aug 23rd 2019 and biometric was done within a week. My estimated completion is now showing Nov but the estimated wait time is 6 days.

Anybody in the same boat? Hope to get this journey complete sooner! My friends on the east coast were done within 2-3 months!

I have finally been scheduled my interview for October 19th (since my cancelled appointment in March 18th)! Yay!

Now I have a doubt: Can I still use my passport from Spain to travel (to Spain), or I have to wait to get my US passport? I have been wanting to go see my family but this process has been excruciatingly long.

Once you become a citizen you must enter the US with your US passport. You can use your Spanish passport to enter Spain (or anywhere else) if you wish.

When is your trip? If you decide to take the Oath the same day of your interview, USCIS will collect your GC. So, you will need a U.S. Passport to return to the U.S.
