Here is the question for you all.

I am planning to get rip of my Vietnamese passport after getting naturalized. I know that the US does not allow you to have 2 citizenships. Does anyone know what do i need to do regard my Viet passport situation?

Where did you hear we can't have dual citizenship? Almost everyone I know has dual citizenship.  Unless Vietnam does not allow you to have dual citizenship, I suggest you hold on to your passport.

Correct. US does in fact recognize dual citizenship. You are not expected to abandon your original citizenship, unless Vietnam asks you to. For example, I have heard India does not recognize dual citizenship.

U.S. law does not mention dual nationality or require a person to choose one nationality or another. A U.S. citizen may naturalize in a foreign state without any risk to his or her U.S. citizenship. [...] Dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country.

This is funny! I just came here to say the same.  It's not showing in the account yet, but I see it in the status page, plus got the email.  I'm so excited and grateful!  We will probably have the same interview date lol.

Nothing unique. When did you guys receive your emails, and what do they look like? To say I'm worried now is to say nothing...

It’s mostly done in order for the most part though some people have been lucky to jump ahead. You’re close though, I’m pretty sure you’ll get yours before this month ends.

This is the email I got 15 mins ago. The text message came first about 30 mins ago.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number: IOE090**********

Application Type: N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On January 23, 2019, we scheduled an interview for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number IOE090******* We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

  • Log-in to your myUSCIS account to view your case history and understand what you can expect to happen next on your case.
  • Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at under Check Processing Times.

Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

Also, they don't always go in order... I suspect its more of a bucket, and they pick somewhat randomly.  This means yours is next... I would see it as a good thing, not bad.

I finally logged in to my account, and it now says they scheduled my interview!!! What an emotional roller-coaster! Thanks everyone!!!

Update: the date of the update on my account page is January 22nd. I haven't received any texts or emails, and there is no letter in the Documents tab. Should I be worried?
