Believe or not, after I struggled for almost 3 years with the I-751, replied to the RFE with full of supporting evidence and everything...today, in my mail box, USCIS sent me the new Permanent Green Card.

But they made a mistake and the person on the Green Card is not me!!!!

It has my correct A number, DOB, name, case number...everything is correct EXCEPT FOR THE PHOTO.

They put the photo of a woman (I'm a Hispanic male) and of different ethnicity.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please check your new documents and don't trust them.

I will have to file a I-90 replacement card and mail them back the "wrong Green Card".

I am still in shock.

Sorry about that. It is so frustrating. In my case, I have not received neither any news nor RFE. Nothing. I sent another inquiry yesterday.

After 3 years, 3 months, no RFE, no Other communication I just got an approval notice on my removal of conditions. I also have n400 pending since April 2018. I have no idea what’s going on but we are relieved I got approved and look forward to getting the card.

 Mrs.

Dear Mrs.

As a result of our inquiry, we have been told that your pending applications are combined and will be considered together.  Unfortunately the waiting time for an interview for citizenship is quite long, as it was even before the offices were closed to due COVID 10.

Please see their website for COVID related updates: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-response-covid-19

I'm not sure what other questions you might have.  If you have any questions, I am available to be reached at (

Sorry to hear about that. Please try Senator Cantwell, Ombudsman, E-requests (do it for both pending cases, I751 and N400) and try to talk to tier 2 officers. I also sent many messages using myUSCIS inbox.

I did all of that and I received an RFE for the I751 and the case was approved in 1 day upon review of new evidence. I was impressed how Senator Cantwell's office called me and called USCIS to do a close follow up. I am not a politician..merely a humble worker.I don't have proof but I think that Cantwell's push catalyzed the approval of my GC.

Today I can see that I will be receiving a letter from USCIS Seattle (I can see it on my USPS informed delivery system). I hope it is the appointment for Naturalization.

Don't give up and keep pushing it.

I will let you know. It's coming from Seattle and my N-400 was filed in October, 2018 so it's overdue. No changes in myUSCIS website yet.

Whatever they write to one Congress man doesn't match with what they tell the other one. I used to send E-request every single month for both pending cases. Before, they told Cantwell about "combo" interview, and all of a sudden, they approved the GC. Keep insisting and alternating the means, rotating each time.

I am a combo filers (I-751 filed Sept 2018, N-400 filed August 2019). I received my RFE a month ago for my I-751 and just sent the evidence last week (May 27th). My I-751 was approved today. I didnt send any inquiries to Senator or submit E-request. USCIS might process I-751 separately for I-751 now and good luck to those who are still waiting for their I-751 approval

How do you guys know if your case for transferred? My application was filled online.

When you check the status of your case, you see this notification. You also can call USCIS and the recorded system will let you know. Anyway, you will receive a letter from Uscis informing you where, when and why your case has been transferred.

OMG guys!!!!!!! A couple days ago I received a phone notice that my Removal of Residence was approved, so it seems that it got approved without requiring an interview. Then yesterday I got the mail notice, which I was expecting to be a printed form telling me that my i-751 was approved and that they would be sending the green card soon... I almost didn't read it.... LOL

TO MY SURPRISE, the form said that they also approved my N-400 and that they will not send me a green card as I will just need to take the Oath and get my naturalization certificate instead! WOW. I didn't even need to go for an interview and do the test! I assume because of the COVID they might want to do social distancing, so they might be sending approvals to a lot of people to help reduce the backlog.

So I applied for the Naturalization 90 days before the expiration of my temp green card, so I think this doesn't put you on ahead of other people, because my approval time has been on par with people that has similar expiration dates to mine. I applied on January 26 of 2019, but my expiration date was April 26 of 2019. You can check my timeline for comparisons, I always put updates there.

Here is what the notice says for those who want to know how they phrased it:

"We have approved your I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Our records also indicate we have approved your form n-400, Application for Naturalization, Because we also approved your N-400, you will not receive a new Permanent Resident Card (also known as Green Card). Instead, once you have taken the Oath of Allegiance, you will receive a Certificate of Naturalization, which will be proof of you U.S Citizenship. If you have question regarding this process, please contact USCIS."

Yey!!
