Credit to Amy Klobuchar and all the senators who signed and send this letter to USCIS. I think USCIS should be able to do video interviews and even zoom meetings for OATH ceremonies. What do you guys think?

Posted the wrong link. Here's the link where the senators asked USCIS to implement video interviews and oath.

I just submitted my application today.  My I751 was just approved last month, and after reading recent posts I thought it better to apply ASAP and get in the long line and wait.

Hi,

I am a Combo filers (I-751 filed in Sept 2018, N400 filed in August 2019). I just got RFE for my I-751, so it looked like I-751 is processed separately from N-400. Hopefully due to the virus, they can issue 10 year GC first before the naturalization interview

AOS Journey

4/21/16: Aos package sent

10/11/16: Interview at USCIS and got approved

10/15/16: GC arrived

ROC Journey

09/08/18: ROC package sent to CSC

07/12/19: Biometrics done

08/16/19: Case transferred to another office

04/27/20: RFE Received

06/04/20: ROC approved

Naturalization

08/05/19: N-400 filed online

08/29/19: Biometrics done

11/03/20: N-400 interview

Did you get your RFE today,  Saturday? Was your l-751 transferred to NBC? If so, when? I am a combo filers too  (I-751 filed on Sept 5, 2017, N400 filed on September 2, 2018).

Hi both, I am a combo filer too.

I filed I751 in November 2017, case transferred from CSC to NBC (Missouri) in December 2018.  I filed N-400 at the end of October 2018. Therefore, almost 30 months passed for ROC and 18 months for Naturalization. Still nothing. Do you think that they are processing the 10yr GC separedtly now?

I really hope so. I have two stamps already. Although technically, it is the "same" l feel l am in limbo. I wrote to my congressman, Senator, Ombudsman, l have sent many inquiries to USCIS, no answers so far... Still waiting. It is frustrating.

I know. In 5 more days, my N-400 will be outside the normal processing timeframe.  I will emphatically request to process my Naturalization as soon as they open. If they cannot warrant this, they should process the I751. I will write again to US Senator and Congressman and propose going to another USCIS office for the interview. Other ideas?

They do not issue you a 10 year green card. Your I-751 is processed before they schedule your N400. This is just regular practice. These two applications are not completely separate. Your N400 still gets delayed by I751. You'll be on stamps until the N400 is done.

When I called their representatives most of them told me that the two cases were separate and they would not affect each other. So then why I still haven't received my 10y GC since I filed in 2017? On my last call the lady was a lot more honest and just told me straight that they're not gonna issue me another green card. I'll need to wait for the N400 to be ready for interview scheduling and I'll have a combo interview of N400 and I-751. And that's what happened. I was scheduled an interview. I received two mails listing the things I needed to bring for I751 and N400. Unfortunately my interview was cancelled in March. My stamp is expiring in June. My I-751 was definitely put on hold at the last part due to my filing of N400. So I had to wait until the N400 finally became "current" for interview scheduling.

Well, l would like to know why Hien Le just got a RFE for the I-751 yesterday if this person is a combo filer too. I don't  know if that l-751 case was also transferred to NBC

It simply means that USCIS is working on his or her I-751 and needs extra material. Being a combo filer doesn't mean that your I-751 is going to sit in the dust. How are they going to process your N400 application & schedule you for interview for naturalization if they haven't processed the bulk of your I-751 and made sure that you are ready to go? They will process most of your I-751 except the final interview.

If you filed I-751 in Sep 2018 and just got a RFE from them, it potentially indicates how much of a delay/backlog there is for I-751. It took them almost 2 years to start working on your I-751 and ask for more evidence. That's insane. That could potentially be the real reason why combo filers wait longer for N400 than their solo-filing peers.

It is good to know that. I read that NBC may or may not check the I-751 forms. Then, I think l did not get a RFE on my I751 because the status of my petition according to USCIS is pending interview scheduling.
