For Combo Filers, does anybody know how this new potential new Executive Order will affect us?

The language is being worked out. I think it might be a coin flip sort of chance for I751. But I lean towards thinking it won't affect us. Since we have already become PR / have already immigrated. Another thing is that family categories might be more likely to have exemptions. This executive order is completely unnecessary. It's just another opportunity the administration sought to reduce immigration.

Based on a draft, there's no impact on USC spouses as well as people who already are permanent residents therefore no impact on I751. People on H1B visas might be affected. Trump has talked about the idea of a more restrictive, secondary order that he could consider down the road.

Because the Supreme Court has decided that the president has broad authority on this matter, it is not to say that everything will just be fine. It's not an absolute thing. The travel ban in 2017 was supposed to be temporary until they improved the vetting process. However it has been continuously extended. There's nothing certain about the future of this EO coming out this week. It could be expanded to cover more immigration categories. It could be extended much future if the president determines that the economy needs an unspecified "longer" time period to recover. Temporary work visas are likely NOT banned based on the draft. How interesting... counterintuitive isn't it? People who are currently already employed and are applying for GCs are supposedly the ones competing for jobs with those going back to work but the government can still grant new work visas. Like,,,,anything you can do to slow them down from getting to vote? Once you tastes the "sweetness" of that power, there's nothing holding you back from abusing it more.

According to the media:

The new policy will not affect spouses and children of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, nor would refugees and asylum seekers be impacted, according to a draft of the order obtained by Bloomberg News

I think there is some hope for us, Combo filers:

From the above link, it is stated:

"Many key details of Trump’s planned executive order are still not known, but one U.S. Department of Homeland Security official who requested anonymity said it would only apply to people applying for permanent residence from outside the United States, not those already in the country seeking to adjust their status.

These Are The People Who Will Be Affected By Trump's New Immigration Ban

"The proclamation suspends access to green cards for certain family members of permanent residents who are outside of the United States, parents and siblings of US citizens abroad, and thousands of people who come to the country as part of a lottery system for 60 days."

"the groups the order applied to received more than 300,000 green cards last year."

1/3 of legal immigrants will be impacted, mostly in family categories. I seriously think it will go longer than 60 days.

And that’s why it makes no sense at all. It has been presented as something that protects unemployed Americans and keeps jobs for them. I actually understand the concept. I’m fortunate that I’m still working (although I had to take a 60% pay cut to keep my job but no reduction in hours or responsibilities...) but if I had lost my job I’d be pretty annoyed to see work visas being issued to foreigners with unemployment here at its highest in a very long time.

However, temporary work visas are not even affected, and neither are certain other work visa categories. Spouses of USCs are not affected (thankfully!) so it looks like the main bulk of those affected are parents and siblings of USCs,   children of USCs, and spouses and children of LPRs.

One look at these forums will tell you that parents of USCs are unlikely to be coming her to take jobs from Americans. Most of them are coming here to retire and live with their family.

Of the just over 1 million immigrant visas issued to family members of USCs in a year, around 500,000 go to spouses. So that leaves around 500,000 that are ineligible under this new plan. 300,000 of those are minors. So that leaves 200,000 - not all of whom are of working age as parents and minor children of siblings are included in that. Spouses of LPRs are about 100,000 a year. In all we are talking about 300,000 people at most, including children and retirement age people. And that’s supposed to help the 20 million who have recently filed for unemployment to get a job?

It’s clearly been done to please those who (wrongly) think that there are “millions of people coming here every year to take our jobs”. It’s simply not true. The vast majority of immigrants are family members of people who already live here, many children and elderly included in that. If they knew the real figures they would be shocked.

I agree. If you just look at the types. These are the types Trump and Stephen Miller have hated for a long time. We are talking about the diversity visa program, "chain immigration," things that Trump has repeatedly said that he wants end. It's just a very convenient time for them. Kill it now, effectively, and extends the ban for as long as possible. In a Washington Post article, Stephen Miller did not shy away from revealing his grand plans of normalization of this EO and furthermore constructing another EO to target non-immigrant work visas. He literally called immigration "decimating America." These are the people we are dealing with. They are very good at hiding their intentions and euphemizing their words and language. But their goals are similarly filled with ethno-nationalism. They have a wide network of connections. Their influence reach is far and deep. Steve Bannon is visible throughout Europe, giving speeches to National Front, giving support for Generation Identitaire, and people in many of those groups make their own Make XXX Great Again logos and clothes, clear influence from the US president. I'd go as far as saying that in the past 3.5 years they've only showed us the "appetizer." This is why I decided to naturalize.

Credit to Amy Klobuchar and all the senators who signed and send this letter to USCIS. I think USCIS should be able to do video interviews and even zoom meetings for OATH ceremonies. What do you guys think?
