Is there data for just n400 filers? I am one as well and filed in December 2019. Trying to figure out some details and plan things. OBV nothing is certain but just trying to get a ballpark.

I’m going to see if i can assemble some data. Likely I am about to be temporarily laid off from work due to flights being reduced so I need to find something to do.

Timeline in brief:

Does anyone know if Seattle conducted same day Oath for any folks after the office opened?  See Naturalization Oath Ceremonies section below.

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-response-coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19

Appointments and Rescheduling

  • USCIS is taking temporary measures to continue our mission, while protecting the public and our employees. To ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce, and in order to comply with local policies regarding COVID-19, USCIS may need to cancel and reschedule in-person appointments and oath ceremonies at field offices.
  • If your appointment or oath ceremony is cancelled, you will either receive an email or a mailed notice. If you don’t receive a new appointment notice in the next 90 days following a cancellation, please reach out to the USCIS Contact Center.
  • See our Field Offices page to confirm the status of your local field office.

Naturalization Oath Ceremonies

  • Attendance at oath ceremonies will be limited to candidates only to allow for social distancing.  An exception will be made for individuals requiring assistance or an interpreter.
  • The daily oath ceremony format will be modified and include only statutory requirements, yet will continue to honor the dignity of the occasion. Should a candidate wish to delay and participate in a full formal ceremony on a later date, the candidate should inform the interviewing officer.

That's a good question. So far it seems it's unlikely to proceed at regular capacity. A couple people reported oath cancelled last Friday at Seattle office. Both WA governor and the federal government are trying to restrict gathering of people down to 50 or less.

Hi All,

I want to share my experience yesterday.

So I am supposed to have the interview yesterday, but what really happened was that when my number was called, the officer told me that my file wasn't there and they couldn't do the interview yesterday.

I wasn't even mad about the situation, I was mad about how they wouldn't even bother to send me a letter or email in advance? They have the whole online system to let the applicant know and they don't even use it. It's just really embarrassing that such well funded government agency wasted both my time and their time. I did look around, situations like this sometimes happens. I guess I am the unlucky one. I really thought I am really done with the whole thing, now back to waiting. sigh.

Again, hope everyone here will get their interviews soon and finally done with it.

Thanks,

yippy_j

Did you get your interview rescheduled? This happened to me today too.

Did they not have your N400 or I-751?

This is so sad

Sounds like every person has one file including all the cases. Apparently because of the virus thing, my file didn’t come on time from the national benefit center. They sent my file there after they approved my I-751.

Sorry to hear this. This must be why combo filers take longer then. Am I right to assume that once Arizona Dropbox finished I-751 they sent it to NBC where nothing was done to it, just waiting until your N400 got ready to be scheduled for interview? So in a way N400 process did not start until I-751 was done and sent to NBC?

My case is different I think. My file was sitting at NBC, then moved to Seattle office when they scheduled my “combo” interview last February. Unfortunately they canceled that combo interview because they didn’t have people who can do these two together. So a few month later they scheduled me for I-751 as they claimed that I-751 has to be approved first before they can do N-400. So I passed the interview last October and they sent my case back to NBC, NBC issued 10 year green card to me. I guess my file was sitting there since then. I’m now just speechless because every kind of issues happened to my case. I hope everyone else won’t have to go through these.

OMG. That sucks. It's unbelievable that after passing your I-751 interview you still had to wait so long for N400 and at N400 they told you they didn't have the file... They really owe this one to you.

Had my interview today.  Got there at around 8:07 am.  They weren't letting people earlier than 30 mins to their appointment time.  I waited on the 2nd floor, got called in at about 9am.  The IO was super nice and the interview was done within 15 mins.  We spent 5 mins waiting for the system to assign me a spot for the Oath ceremony at 10:30am.  They are doing expedited version of Oath ceremony due to the COVID-19 situation.  Went to the 2nd floor at 10:15am... folks for 10:30am Oath ceremony were asked to form a queue at 10:22 am.  Then we went to the auditorium and waited for the officer.  The ceremony started at 10:40am.  We took the Oath of allegience and were handed the Certificates.  Done and out of the building by 10:50am.   Shout out to everyone on this forum... would've been lost without all the helpful info shared by all.

Thats a bummer... the travel and tourism industry is the worst hit. On the brighter side, i am hoping USCIS takes the time to process application faster and all that is left is interview and Oath. I get that can be a challenge but technology should assists here and have virtual interview. I work in tech, so let me know how i can help with the project.

My wife had her interview this morning, scheduled for 8:00AM. Basically the same story, she got sworn in at the 10:30 ceremony.

However one important additional piece of information -- to reduce the number of people in the building, they are only letting in individuals who actually have the appointment, so I could not enter.

I left to go work in a coffee shop, but then realized that today was the first day of all restaurants/coffee shops being takeout only. So I worked from my car for a couple hours until she was done, and I did not get to see her ceremony.

That’s a great outcome! How many people participated in the abbreviated oath ceremony?
