Hi I am making a new post so it is in the relevant section.

I did my AOS in May 2017 from a k1 visa, my EAD will expire in Sep 2018 so I am looking to do ead renewal 180 days prior to expiration. I am still waiting for a GC interview date

From what I understand I need to file

Quote

I-765

I-131

AOS NOA1

EAD NOA1

AP NOA1

Photocopy of combo card's front and back

G-1145

US passport photos

  1. How many G1145's do you need to complete and how many passport photos are required since it is a combo card.
  2. Are all forms posted to the I765 address?
  3. Would the category for the I765 be (C9)
  4. On the I131 form in section 2 is it 1d we select (AP to allow me to return to US after temporary foreign travel)
  5. Do the NOA's have to be original or can you keep the originals and send photocopies?
  6. Am I correct in saying the NOA I receive from the extension application extends my current EAD card for a limited amount of time until the new physical card arrives?

If I were you I would wait because you will probably get your Green Card soon. They just tell you not to apply for the EAD BEFORE 180 days from your EAD expiration date. Unnecessary to waste money when you probably will have your Green Card within the next few months.

There is no waste of money - I-765/I-131 renewal is fee waived as well.

You're right. I just looked at the instructions and K-1 is exempt from the renewal fee.

I haven't filed my EAD renewal yet, but I'm preparing to do so in May 2018. I did some readings on the others' experiences and that's what I understood:

1. Just G1145 and one photo. Some people reported not submitting photos at all and the renewed card was issued with the old one. I'm still going to send a new photo just to be safe.

2. Yes, you send everything to Chicago lockbox.

3. Yes, C9.

4. Yes.

5. Just send a copy and keep the original NOA.

6. You're correct. They will send you an NOA upon acceptance of your renewal application, in which it will be stated that your current EAD has been extended 180 days. You can use that letter to renew your other documents should you need to do so. For instance, my DL expires in summer and I plan on renewing it based on NOA of my renewal application.

Thank you so much, are you sure it is one photo for some reason I thought it was 2.

No, I am not sure. I am just saying what I heard from the others. Send two pics if you are worried. Better safe than sorry.

On the i765 what would my current immigration status be?

Would it just be non resident alien... When doing aos it was just k1 I put

Your status has not changed or been adjusted yet from the original application

YMMV

So would it just be K1 or does non resident alien make sense? I was going to write "non resident alien k1"

Furthermore, the question that asks if you ever applied for employment authorization from USCIS before. I figured out the USCIS office relates to the first 3 letters of your EAD card number though for dates I thought that would of been the date you filed on your originial i765 form when doing AOS though I read online that it's the date on your EAD card?

In terms of the I-131 form part 3 asks "Have you ever been issued a reentry permit or refugee travel document?"

Should this be yes as I applied for I-131 at AOS and have I-131 AP on my EAD card? Or is the reentry permit different than the I-131?

Thank you very much I plan to send it in one envelope with a paper clips separating the I-131 form and the I-765 and supporting paperwork.

In terms of the address is this the correct Chicago address to send to?

USCIS Chicago Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

USCIS
Attn: FBAS
P.O. Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Only reason I ask is i765 says Chicago address and the i131 mentions Arizona?

Yes, I-765 - Chicago.

To be honest I got "puzzled" with I-431 renewal.. My receipt # started with MSC and i sent everything to Chicago. I didn't even think it cold be  two different addresses.

But according to USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/i-131-addresses  seems like if your I-485 receipt begins with LIN or WAC, then yes, I-131 needs to be sent to Arizona...

Hopefully,  someone with a recent experience will be more helpful...
