You need to contact USCIS and ask them. I am not familiar with the procedure, I just know that most likely you're going to have an issue with having your Green Card in your maiden name and then use a married name on everything else.

I think the name change should have been done before the AOS paperwork.

Yes, the name change would best have been done before filing for AOS. However, you can try to contact them at the local field office (via mail) and ask that they change it. No guarantees, but the alternative is to wait until the interview (if you get one), or wait until you get the green card then file an I-90 (and pay the fee and wait) to get it changed to the new name.

I can't recall how long it took, I know it took months, by the time I had the interview they sent me a temporary work visa that arrived about a week or so before the interview.

It wasn't a temporary work visa. It was a work permit (ead). 

 

And both ead and travel permit usually arrives about 3 to 4 months from date of filling.

Why didn’t you put the married name on the AOS/EAD/AP application? 

 

Other people haven't been been able to change this even if they do have an interview or they are told it will happen at the interview but are still sent a card with the name they put on the AOS application.

Name change is a legal/court process. Ours took about a couple mos, we sent a certified judge's order with ROC paperwork.

Not necessarily, if it’s just maiden last name to married last name all you need is a marriage certificate.

 

Also you can just wait until removal of conditions to change it instead of filing for the I-90
