Hello All,

I have a huge concern....... We filed our petition in early Feb (02.14.2007 is our NOA). We haven't received our interview notice, but based on what I have researched, it seems like our interview date will be sometime in June or July in Boston.

We have a huge destination wedding in Napa Valley on 4th of July weekend and we are leaving to Hawaii for two weeks after the wedding for Honeymoon. We booked our wedding site as soon as we got engaged in March 2006, but we had to wait for 14 months to have our huge wedding since our wedding site was all booked for year 2006. This is a long coming wedding/honeymoon and we spent so much effort and money.

I can't cancel this wedding or our honeymoon for our interview. If I have to, I will kill myself!!!

I read someone's post about re-scheduling the AOS interview, but seems like it is the most unforgiven thing that we can do.....but we can't cancel our wedding/honeymoon...

I should think about it once we get the interview notice (as my husband say).........chances are that we will have an interview after or before our wedding/honeymoon and it will all work out, but I need to be ready for the worst case scenario!!!!

Someone Help Us!!!!!

Thanks!!!!

Well you know that you won't have your interview on the weekend... So really, listen to your husband and relax. Worst case scenerio is that you have to fly home from your honeymoon. My interview notice states "YOU MUST APPEAR FOR THIS INTERVIEW-If an emergency, such as your own illness or a close relative's hospitalization, prevents you from appearing, call the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 18003755283 asap. Please be advised that rescheduling WILL delay processing of application/petition, and may require some steps to be repeated. It may also affect your eligibility for other immigration benefits while this application is pending" So sounds like an all round bad idea. just relax and you shall have a lovely wedding and honeymoon.

Lucky7,

Be aware that many people who followed procedure and thought that their interview had been rescheduled were surprised to have their applications denied for having missed the interview because the interviewing office had not rescheduled the interview.

Come hell or high water, go to the interview date/time that you're given. Might cost you an arm and a leg to fly back for it and abandon parts of your honeymoon plans but it'll be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for your reply all!

I will keep all my fingers crossed and pray for now. Gosh... I didn't think I have to wait more than 6 months for an interview and I should have filed our petition much sooner... Oh well....it is what it is:)
