Hey everyone,

On this forum, I found an example of the intent to marry letter  and cover letter through this link: http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples/

1. Is it fine if I use these examples ?

2. Is everyone required to submit the cover letter and the letter of intent in such format? For example, the cover letter has this phrase: "Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or Consular officer at a later date." So what if someone didn't write this down, would they get rejected ? are we required to write dow nthat we are using photocopies and not original documents ?

3. Can we print everything double sided or is printing on one side better ?

Thank you in advance !

You can use the samples or write your own.

That sentence is not compulsory. You won't get rejected for that.

Single sided only.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Dont overthink it.  The cover letter should list everything in the packet (you can use that as a checklist before sending) and the letters of intent just has to say that you both intend to marry each other within 90 days of arrival.  You can add as much legalese and fancy stuff but the bottom line is a simple statement that each of you intend to marry each other within the 90 days.

My opinion is one sided.  It would be terrible if something was missed because someone only scanned one side.  That is just my opinion.

The instructions also say " Mark the envelope and the cover letter with the form number. For example, I-129, I-130, I-690 or I-698."

So if I'm sending this in one of those yellow envelopes I have to write on it  "I-129" ?

At the bottom I would write "Contains I-129f petition for K-1 visa"  I don't believe we did but it won't hurt.  Also, I really doubt if they will reject it if you don't write that.

@Olichka here is another suggestion.  You are doing a great job to see you are covering all the bases.  I highly recommend using a personal check to pay the USCIS fee.  So many here use money orders and have no way to track when the check is cashed.  With a personal check you will see when the money is withdrawn.  It will give you some sense of comfort especially if you see an extended wait for NOA1.  I am seeing here that sometimes the NOA1 can take weeks to get sent out.  The check will help you see when they received your petition and that they took your money.

Thank you for your suggestion. I was thinking of sending a check as well because I would see on my statement that it was cashed. Also, when they withdraw the money, that means that my NOA1 is technically ready, but wasn't sent yet ?

Yes. The NOA1 is just a notice that they received your petition. If the check is cashed that is as good as an NOA1 minus the WAC#. You will know the NOA2 is on the way.
