So the interview was yesterday - approved according to the embassy/consulate yet you called the Dept. of State today (and get a different story). Are you sure you're not jumping the gun just a bit? I know you've been waiting a long time, but maybe it's too soon to react... (I could certainly be way wrong on this.)

They said "you have been approved and your passport will come via courier"

Why did you call the department of state and why would you believe what they said? They were not in Mumbai and they were not told the passport will come via courier. The DOS is the last to know - no reason on earth to rely on them for information when you got it directly from your fiance's mouth.

Wait for the passport via courier.

Be patient, say some prayer, and wait for the visa to arrive to your fiance. If they said she will get it by courier, I would think that information from the embassy in Mumbai would be much more reliable right now than what a DOS person said on the phone. Please keep us posted.

YOu don't have any reason to panic. US embassy will notify you by mail if they need something more. I noticed that during our immigration application galore, my husband got exactly the same document that I got. So i figured they definitely send the petitioner a documentation. Just relax. :innocent:

English isn't my 1st language. If anyone is offended/annoyed because of the way I constructed my sentences/replies/comments/essay etc.., I do apologize. It's a personal opinion based on experiences, and should be taken with maturity and discretion. Written statements do not express emotions or feelings, it makes it more difficult to determine what is being conveyed. It is subjective to one's own interpretation. Read at your own risk. IGNORANT STINKY LOSERS USUALLY GET VERY VERY OFFENDED!!!

CountryBoy et.al.

Because the embassies and consulates are within the Department of State?

DoS is a big organization - it would have been nice had he told us where in that organization he called.

Yodrak

Why would you call the department of state? Just curious ..
