Often the other pages are to prove where you HAVEN'T travelled. You havent spent time in Syria, Iran, North Korea, etc.

I agree  - it seems ridiculous. But that's why some people mail in all blank pages.

Good point.  I never thought of that side of it.  I scanned everything including blank pages and front and back cover.  I was told it was to establish the validity of the important pages.  It ties the entire book together instead of just two pages that can be from different books.  I know there were RFEs for the entire passport.  That was hit and miss.  Maybe it was due to travel info.

I've seen quite a bit of warning against any sort of ceremony for the K1 visa. Just a cautionary note there.

Also make sure you include your long form birth certificate or a full scan of your passport (front cover and back cover and all) to prove your citizenship. I got an RFE for this.

I second this - dont do any kind of ceremony beforehand.. this may be misconstrued as a 'wedding'.

Leave allll the ceremonial stuff until after the K1 has been approved and issued etc.

@John951, I strongly recommend using a personal check to pay the $535.  Some people are stressing while waiting for NOA1 and using a personal check will give you a little comfort that the petition was received since you can see when the money is withdrawn.  If you use a money order it is more difficult to track when the check is cashed.

Make sure you sign each paper. I believe you also need to print your name on the back of the passport-style photo, same goes for your beneficiary. Good luck !

I forgot to do this !!!! 🤯 No signature on passport copy or names on pictures.

Do you think they will reject it for that reason?

A K1 visa is a fiance visa! You must not be married to each other before the K1 visa is used for entry. You must get married in the USA within 90 days.

You cannot get married in Thailand and then your fiance use the K1 for entry if you are already married to eachother. You'd need an entirely different visa if you are planning to get married prior to their entry to the US.

I honestly don't know if they will reject it :/ I just know that everything has to be signed, and dated.

You CAN'T do that. You can't have a wedding before entering  the US on a K1. That is the whole point of the fiance visa... to have the wedding in the US.

Look at what happened to these people..

Why would you even risk it? Just go through the K1 and have a wedding here. Her family can have a ceremony in her country later.

I'm sorry, I misspoke, I do not plan on having an official wedding or signing of any official wedding papers. I meant unofficial wedding ceremony/celebration/ engagement party.... but after reading those other posts I'll just wait till we get into the USA. Thanks !

I was under the impression that an unofficial ceremony/engagement party was ok? But why risk it right?

I'm just beating myself up now for not signing and dating my passport copies or the back of the photos...... ugh, so much paperwork.

By all means, have an engagement party. That is a lovely idea and not unusual at all.

BUT anything considered to be a marriage/wedding ceremony however unofficial it is.. will raise huge red flags. I know its a drag waiting for the K1 process but do not do anything that could be misconstrued as a marriage/wedding. This may result in denial. You love your fiance, you can and will wait :)

We understand why you would want to do it. And you probably figured, "What's the harm?" But that is why I posted the links to others who were denied for that very reason.

Even verbal slips like "weddings", "marriages", "husband", and "wife" can wreak havoc on your case if  read or heard by the wrong  eyes or ears.

The main reason for all pages is to tie the passport to any stamped pages within it that may prove you were in country.  Just the bio page and separate stamped page(s) can be from different passports.

I don't know about US passports (I've never bothered to look at my fiance's) but Australian ones have the passport number on ALL the pages, and it changes when you get a new one. It's an impossibility for us to photocopy multiple passports and try to pass them off as the same.
