Congrats!.  When are you going to know  the day of  the ceremony? .

Thank you :) They said there will probably be a letter in about a week. They also said that since I live in the area, it will not take too long since they have ceremonies every two weeks, if I remember correctly.

I have my interview next Thursday,  I wonder if we may put us in the same ceremony,  btw..  I have been told Germany does not allow dual citizenship unless  you got it from your parents.  Spain doesn't care if you have another one .

Just had my interview, and I got approved :D It was so much easier than I thought, my worries were completely unnecessary. The whole interview basically took about 10 minutes. The IO first went through all the questions from the application, and then did the civics test. My questions were:

Name two cabinet positions.
What did Martin Luther King Jr. fight for?
The idea of self government is in the first three words of the Constitution. What are these words?
What ocean borders the US on the East coast?
Name one branch of our government.
What is the supreme law of the land?

I had to read: "How many Senators are there?" and write: "There are 100 Senators."

This was a very pleasant experience.

Congrats ...So happy that you ended up having a stress free interview.. fingers crossed mine will be. Was surprised that it only took 10 mins.. I thought it would be longer than that with all they have to go through with you.. lol.. mine is next week in Cleveland....

Dual citizenship is possible with Germany. You have to apply to keep the German one before you become an American citizen though, otherwise you lose your German citizenship. I did it all in time, so I am going to be dual. Good luck to you as well!

I had my interview last Tuesday and I got a decision cannot be made yet. The IO was very professional she read every questions from my applications. I had to change some things ( address, my husband employment info, etc.) I had bunch of papers with me, but she didn't want to see anything. She   asked me if I had any questions for her so my husband (he was with me during both interviews I751 and N400) told her that she didn't ask him anything. So she asked him :How do you like your new wife? 😠 My husband was married before, but he got divorced 10 years before we even met, we have been married since 2014 and dating 2 years before. She said she will decide by the end of the week. I finally got email today that I'm placed in line for oath ceremony :D.

I'm glad you had better experience.

No, my IO read every question from forms and ask me to answer. She asked How many times in past 5 years you have been out of country for longer than 24 hours? I said 3 times once in Canada and twice in Serbia. She did't ask when or for how long.

All set with my interview!!.   Waiting was worse that the interview itself, my  civic questions were super basic, and the IO did check my passport stamps and the reason why  I left the country and for how long .

Has anybody here recently have to reschedule their oath? I am reading all kinds of horror stories about doing so in general (not Detroit-specific), but I have no other choice. Will this delay me for months?

I guess every interview is different. Did IO recommended you for approval?
