Today morning around 7 got an email from uscis saying that " we are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time". This is the 3rd time that I got this email since I filed, does anybody know what this email means?

I too get the same emails in interval of 2-3 Weeks, basically means no updates as of now.

Hi  Bill and Katya ( and others who did oath in detroit)

Appreciate your advice on applying for passport after my  oath ceremony at 1pm next thursday.

1.do i fill out ds 11 form in advance , of oath ceremony?

2. Since my oath is during the later part of the day, 1pm ,can i apply for the passport the same day? Do u think i will have enough time to apply for the passport same day consdering the fact that passport office closes afound 330 pm

3, can i apply for the passport the follwing day , if i run short of time to apply for passport same day

4. I want to apply for expedited passport , do i have to specify a valid reason or no reason required for expedited passport

5.how many days i might receive my expedited passport

6. I want to recieve my passport  to a different address other than my current residential address. Can i specify my freinds address as mailing address tor my passport.

thankyou for your time in advance. Appreciate if the senior members of this forum who applied for passport at dtw, respond to my questions.

thankyou

Katya’s oath was also in the afternoon and we did not have time to apply for the passport on the same day, so we went down the next day and did it.  We did an expidite application telling them we had plans for travel in the next few weeks even though we had not purchased tickets yet and they were fine with it.  Katya applied on a Tuesday with no appointment (we just walked in) and she received her passport the following Friday (three days later).  So once she received her passport we bought our tickets and left two and a half weeks later.  There should be a representative from the passport office at your oath ceremony explaining everything to your group.  The one big advantage in my opinion with the passport office is that they will not keep the naturalization certificate if you apply for a passport within 30 days from your oath at the office.

Good Luck!

Still no word about my interview date.  I applied online on July 8th this year and thought, for sure, I would have heard something by now. Man!  I hope it doesn't have to do with the fact that there's a guy that lives near Columbus, Ohio who has my exact first and last name and we were both born on Christmas Day in the same year but, he's a convicted felon. I have NO criminal record.  That didn't cause me any trouble in my Greencard application. But, it did cause me trouble during a couple of background checks I had for jobs here. I'm starting to lose hope now, that I'll have my interview before Christmas.  And, my Oath Ceremony probably won't be till next year. 😞   Ugh!  I can't wait for this to just be over with.

Just called USCIS to try and get any extra information on my case. The first time I called, I waited about 10 minutes and then it just hung up on me! 😖   So, I called back and had to wait another 15 minutes.  At first, she was having trouble finding my case in the system so, she asked me more questions and I gave her the answers. Finally, she found it and gave me the information about the last notice mailed out (my Biometrics appointment on July 14th). So, then I asked if I could get some more information on my case, such as if the background check was done. So, she asked for my zip code (to locate my local office) and she put me on hold. She came back after a few minutes and told me that she was unable to find out anymore information. All she said, was that it looks like there's nothing wrong with my case.  And, she told me things I already knew.... the current 6 to 13 month processing time for N400 forms at the Detroit office. I told her about this website and how someone posted about getting their interview notice and, they applied a month after me. She just said that each case is different and to basically be patient.

I called them once asked about my current status then the officer said your application has been entered into the system which schedules interviews and recently messaged in my account got the same reply, so I would say just wait I know it's hard to wait but we got no other option rather than waiting. I hope we get our interview letter soon this month.

Hello All

I am about to file in the Detroit Field office for N-400, I have already completed the ROC early this year. Have all documents ready and plan to apply on line, there is only one thing that makes me concern, there is an error on my child birth certificate, where my birthday date is incorrect, the day in specific, the year and the month are correct. I have read comments about name changes, traffic tickets not declared on the filing, and declared during the interview but I haven't seen anything about dates; Don't know if to have that fix first before filing or not. Anyone with a similar situation?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yep.  I applied July 8th, 2018 and STILL haven't received an interview notice.  It will be 6 months since I applied on January 8th, 2019.

I hope this doesn't have anything to do with Trump shutting down the government.
