No, no pending ROC case

Thank you. Are you an online filer and when did you do FP?

I apologize for so many questions. Just trying to understand how they are scheduling interview. My family filed on May 2 but we have not received anything at all. I spoke to IO last month and was told that cases are in line for interview.

@CoffeeVegan My husband applied May 12th and we got his interview letter on Thursday last week. He is scheduled for October 4th. This is WAY faster than we anticipated!

Congratulations. Good to see Detroit moving ahead. May cases are now getting scheduled for interview. Hope to find an end to this waiting game!

Congratulations.

Not sure about movement. Atleast I know 4 other people from 1st week of May who have not been scheduled. couple of them are in line to be scheduled for interview status. I don't know probably they are drawing lots :)  They did this with March folks in April/May and then came back to remaining folks from March after 2-3 months.

Yup. Hope to get in the next round of the draw. Lol. Although it also depends on how complicated the case is.

Mine is relatively straightforward except a few things I may have to explain during the interview: 30+ trips abroad (most of them business trips) with 200+ days outside the country, 1 traffic ticket (minor), and a divorce (although I didn't get my GC through marriage). But I would consider myself lucky if I get the interview call so soon.

lol. All the 4 cases I told you are straightforward cases. Me and my wife don't even have a parking ticket. More than 5 years of residency when we filed (so even 90 days of early filing does not apply). So don't think it's just complexity of case. There is some level of inefficiency at this office. When you talk to IOs at this office, they are not very helpful as well.

Yuck!  It sucks that they've moved it back to between 8.5 and 16 months!   It gives me a sinking feeling to know that all of you guys applied back in the spring and are still waiting.  I applied on July 8th, online and have a very straight-forward case.  At first, I was hoping to get citizenship in enough time to vote in this year's mid-term election. I know that's not going to happen. But, now, I would settle for getting citizenship before the end of this year. I bet if Obama or a Democrat was in the White House right now, cases would be moving a lot faster.  This administration is the most anti-immigrant ever!  Just this morning, I read a story at www.electoral-vote.com  about how Mexican-American mothers who gave birth between the 1950's and 1990's and used midwives instead of physicians to deliver the babies. So, it was the midwives who made out the birth certificates.  Those kids grew up as U.S. citizens and have jobs like police officers, doctors and fire fighters. But, now the government is denying a bunch of them U.S. passports and even revoking some of their passports while they are abroad, questioning the legality of their citizenship.... So, now they can't re-enter the country!!  Can you imagine?!?!  You go on a vacation and find out the country you grew up in and have citizenship with, has just revoked your passport.  You could lose your job, house and have your family put in devastating hardship while trying to work things out.  It's just so ridiculous.

He sent the application online on May 9, 2018. FP were May 29th, and then August 23rd is when we received word that he was scheduled for his interview. No worries on the questions! Did you do FP already? If so, Maybe you will be hearing something any day now.

Thank you so much for the information. I filed on May 2. FP on May 16. Since then no update. Inquired a month back and was told application is ready to be scheduled for interview. I hope he gets his citizenship soon. All the best for interviews.

I know others are still waiting for their interviews, and I should be grateful I’ve had mine and was approved. I’ve been waiting almost a month to receive my Oath Ceremony letter. My Green Card expires in 5 days. Am I still able to work? ( I never changed my SS card when I got my Green Card 10 years ago) and can I move house to a different State? We literally live on the MI/ IN Stateline and the only decent houses in MI are well over our price range.

Sorry to rant whilst others are still waiting. Wishing you all the very best and a speedy resolution to your immigration journey x

Got my interview for Oct 18. Received it today and Yesterday only booked tickets for international travel in November. Does anybody knows how many oath ceremonies are conducted in a month in Detroit? Is there a website that can show us those date. Thank you in advance. Will appreciate any help on this.

congratulations for your interview, I had searched before for that a lot and got nothing, but from my timeline since the dates are close I can tell that you could get your oath ceremony within a month from the interview date. my interview was august 29, got the update of status about oath ceremony September 5th, and the ceremony is September 17th, so it took like 19 days from interview to ceremony.

So Detroit is moving forward finally. Looks like there are two others from May who got interviews too. Congratulations to all.

Too bad on your timing for travel. From what I calculated, people get oath within 3 weeks of interview if you are approved on spot. Plus 1 week for expedited passport. So I think 4 weeks is the best case scenario.
