Not worth it. Just buy it from Lazada online for under 100usd and most likely it will ship for free. They are pretty good with fast shipping.

i see. thanks.

The cost to ship will far exceed the value of the phone

YMMV

It will more than likely be held for custom and duty. I sent a  used 3 year old laptop about 10 years ago, I declared value at $100 and shipped it via Fed Ex.  It cost another $300 custom/duty once it hit Philippines to get it released for delivery.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

I agree with most of them. Totally not worth sending it. Not unless you know someone going back to Cebu.

Truly NOT worth it shipping by UPS/FEDEX/DHL  they require shipping forms to list what is being shipped.  The import tax is HUGE, the "disappearing act" happens often also.

A nice phone for about $100, that can run circles around an iPhone = the OPPO A37.   We use our here in the USA also.   (our iPhone lays in a drawer)

I have sent many phones. Only once did I send it DHL for fast delivery (it was new and an expensive phone for a birthday present). If I recall correctly I paid under $150 USD. Of all the other phones I have sent I just throw them in a balikbayan box which I usually send 2-3x a year. I never declare them in the documentation though. I will be sending another one this week.

  • 2 weeks later...

We threw two 6S iphones as well as an ipad in the last Balikbayan box we sent Mom, though my wife insisted on putting them in an empty old cereal box, inside the Balikbayan box :)
