I have no doubt that your AOS interview feels like it was a Stokes because of the separate nature and particularly if the interview was recorded.  There is no such thing as a Stokes interview for a K-1, as the genesis of the Stokes law was gaining an immigration benefit base on "marriage" fraud.  A K-1 you are not yet seeking a marriage based immigration benefit.  Secondly, Stokes interviews are the responsibility of the USCIS and not the State Department

I doubt it, that person was in the country illegally, my husband and I did it the legal way.

Why would it be like that?? They actually came into the country LEGALLY not like that couple in Boston whose husband came in the country Illegally.

I will let you all know. I messaged a local immigration lawyer and the congressman's office who we were working with to just verify if it was an interview letter or what and both said that yes its an interview letter for AOS. I was so confused because never in my wildest dreams would I have thought we would have had an interview so quickly and especially with the AOS date stating they are working on March 17, 2017 cases.

For the very fact that we were separated and drilled for an hour each with about 50 questions deems it a stokes interview.
Not always does immigration follow their own advice and regulations and announce that a second interview is a stokes if such 
regulation even exists in the USCIS field manuals,of course  law firms insinuate a stokes is a secondary
interview but it is not so in each and every case though in many it is, generally speaking.

As to whether the consulate uses stokes methods, of course, I have read it here on VJ. If you don't want to call it a "stokes" then you can call it
"an interview where the couple is separated and drilled for a long time with lots of questions". It is the same thing.
It happens at some embassies though usually the consuls couldn't care less what the fiance or spouse would answer and simply do not conduct
a stokes or the method of a stokes. Yes, of course it is used to weed out immigration benefits sought on the basis of fraud, a very effective one
I might add. I am certain  that DOS uses the "stokes" method to find fraud. I read about it here and I have been through it.
No matter where and why and with which agency the stokes came into being, it is used by both agencies and without a letter and as a first interview.
The very core of being separated and individually questioned when suspecting fraud makes it a stokes whether they bother to announce that or not.
We have to agree to disagree on this one. If you can show me that a stokes may not be held by a CO in a manual or by an IO at an initial
interview then I still maintain that they don't abide by their own regulations and that they do use the stokes without a letter announcing it and without
an initial interview.  I believe the term deeming a stokes "secondary" is a broad and general term and simply does not fit into the box of 
every single case. We had a stokes and saying it was not a stokes is incorrect in my opinion, no matter how many time the word 'secondary'
is attached to it.

I found a discussion about this, and if you look at the bottom, it was not a stokes interview for them.

Does the top of the letter say Call in Letter?

 

If so , its a interview letter.   Even if its a first time interview.  We received the Call in Letter for our interview,  it lasted maybe 15 minutes.

Received exactly the same letter last year. Was a regular i751 interview.
