Hi

I'm about to file N-400 online, but I don't have my spouse's date of Naturalization, which is one of the boxes in Part 10. Information About Your Marital History

"...

6. If your current spouse is a U.S. citizen, complete the following information.

A. When did your current spouse become a U.S. citizen?

Other - Complete the following information.

B.  Date Your Current Spouse Became a U.S. Citizen (mm/dd/yyyy)

..."

According to my I-130, filed the similar box, it stated "2000 (Petitioner cannot locate her certificate - please see her U.S. passport enclosed)". However, there is no option to add a comment in that box (mm/dd/yyyy). Should I file paper instead with the added comment or should I leave it blank in the electronic file? (Either case I would attach her passport for the proof of citizenship). Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Nenton

I would put a date on there - if memory serves, you will not be able to continue to the next section unless you fill that information - perhaps the issue date on her passport?

As you complete the online form, later you will have access to the Evidence tab - this is where you will upload your documents.

In the section where you will upload documents about your US citizen spouse - Upload the copy of your spouse's US Passport there and a document with your name, A# and application type (N-400) - in that document you will explain that you do not have a copy of your spouse's certificate of naturalization.  Explain too that you mentioned this in the previously approved I-30 application (provide the case number for that so they can check it).
