I am not sure if she signed it or not. She was signing my name on a lot of things.

Do you think that short marriages should come with green cards and potential lifetime support?

How can you still blame everyone else but yourself when:

  1. You didn't read the Affidavit instructions
  2. You didn't get to know her before marrying her
  3. You apparently let her forge your signature

I'm not here to judge someone feelings. If the US citizen signs and is willing to face consequences then sure, they can do whatever they want.

The fact that you got screwed over doesn't mean all foreigner are after those precious American dollars.

You did not answer my question, so I guess that you think that short marriages should get green cards and potential for lifetime support in excess of one million dollars. It is the case with the current laws that I am going to change.

There could be a felony somewhere in there.....

What do you think should happen to the foreign spouse if the marriage ends after a short marriage?

Thank you for the opportunity to express myself rather than the insults I have been getting here!

I think that if there is a short marriage, the immigrant should only stay if they support themselves. If they do not support themselves or refuse to work, they should lose their status. If they go after welfare they should go back, like it is in most countries. I am not saying we should deport these people, I am saying they should support themselves. Currently the law gives the immigrant no reason to work. If she works and makes less than $30k, she will just have to pay takes on the money she makes, which will be subtracted from the money I have to pay her. If she works for 10 quarters, they will take away her right to have me give her $30k per year.

She can live with a boyfriend, have babies and still have me support her for life as long as she does not work. This is not right. In order to not be a public charge, she should support herself of lose her status.

You know that this is not how it works right? You don't give her any money. If anything you pay the government if she uses the benefits...

Anyway. It's still your fault. Should have read the paperwork. Period.

So it's even more your fault. It was YOUR responsibility to file. YOUR responsibility yo sign it. You didn't even read it and now you're whinning because you didn't know.

Let me guess. He'll say they only deserve to be send away.

You do not answer my question. I will try again. Do you think that short marriages should come with a green card and potential for lifetime support in excess of one million dollars?

Here is my solution and it is not deportation. The immigrant should be required to support themselves and if they take money from the government or the ex, they should lose their status. This would encourage people to support themselves. Current system encourages them to not work. If she works for 10 years, then she will lose her ability to get lifetime support.

What are these "most countries" who deport immigrants who can't support themselves?

Please read up on the Removal of Conditions process. And if you had read the information on USCIS website you might not have been in this situation. Time to own up to your own mistakes like a grown man.

Rather than insulting me, can you just answer my question?

Do you think that short marriages should get green cards and potential lifetime support in excess of a million dollars?

Reading up on the process is my answer to your question. Because USCIS already has policies in place for what you're asking for but since you didn't research it you have no clue. And who is paying millions?

I am not here for blame, I am here to change policy. I do not think that someone should get lifetime support in excess of a million dollars for marrying someone.

I wish what you say is true and that is what I thought was the case at first. Apparently I have to pay her directly over $30k per year. Can someone else back me up here?

That is a good topic I will study. I think the EU, UAE, China, Japan, but should know more as I lobby the US government.

I am not for deportation, I just want them to support themselves or lose status.

Many immigrants are hard working and I support them.

I am pretty sure you can remove the EU on that list.
