Can i apply for Schengen visa with expired green and card + extension letter or should i get 551 stamp on my passport ?

You can apply with an extension letter. Make sure to include a copy of your letter as well as your expired green card in the application packet.

Are you a Citizen of Spain with an Expired Green Card? Spain is part of the EEC

No, I am not Citizen of Spain but i lived there for 9 years .

Ok. Depending on what country you are from, they require the usual Passport/GC/I-787, plus evidence of residence, employment, funds etc as well.

thanks , i am from Morocco and have had so many tourist visas to Uk and EU. just was not sure about being able to apply with extension letter and expired GC

Might be useful to others: I applied for a German Schengen visa successfully with my expired green card + 18-month extension letter. They needed to see the original extension letter though.

 

On my application (where it asks for expiry date of your PR card), I put my the date that is the GC expiry date + 18 months.

In-person interview, yes. I went with my original extension letter and expired green card; they took copies of each.
